Ya know, sometimes it comes down to our visceral senses and reactions. Clearly with respect to this person people have very, very different reactions. There has to be SOME reason for that. When I listen to and look at the guy -- for his intelligence, for his integrity, for his pain and authenticity, etc, etc -- I don't experience any incongruence at all in terms of his "merits." It doesn't even enter my mind that he didn't succeed at Harvard on his merits, or that he not only new how to "campaign" but went through arduous debates and attacks with a full slate of Democratic opponents, a fierce battle with Hilary, an American icon (who I assume you also think is an affirmative action mirage and not smart), an American hero and one of the most experienced politicians in history, and then Mr. Romney. And it's not because of my white guilt. Did I think it was really cool that America cleared that hurdle in 2008? Yes, yes I did. But I find him incredibly and authentically impressive aside from that. I see how he is with his family. I see how he is socially at a basketball game or kidding around with a college coach or NBA player. And I see how he has viscerally reacted in crisis (Newtown comes to mind). I have no doubt at all that he is smartest person in the room in every meeting he participates in. I can't take you seriously if you tell me you consider McConnell and Boehner, et all in his league or over his league. We should move on, because clearly none of us are going to move anyone else's needle an inch, but keep this discussion in mind when his last 2 years turn out to be his best. Amazing to me that you give him absolutely no credit at all for navigating us through a very dangerous and tricky period. And also amazing that you think there is no racism that has played a role in how people view and treat him. I believe that the absence of evidence is in the fact that neither his grades nor his admission papers have ever been made public. Therefore, you cannot state he did it on merit. You don't know for certain and never will. It's safe to say GW received his Ivy League education on family ties and its not a stretch that most of the Kennedy's did as well. We are now 5-6 years into our current disastrous administration. With regard to qualifications, explain how Obama became head of the harvard law review on a non-existent CV. I am not saying that the CV was not seen. I am saying that the research, papers, theses, etc etc that peppered the CV of all other Heads of the Harvard Law Review was simply not there for Obama. He did nothing to earn it. It was given to him because he filled a niche.

As for his presidency, I give him credit in doing exactly what he promised to do; 'transform America'. In doing so, it was his plan to create a socialistic dictatorship (like Communist Russia or even Nazi Germany). In so doing he has played the race-card on every critique of his policy. People have been afraid to criticize him for fear of being labeled racist. As a president he has been the most racist of all. Finally even his own party is starting to question and say 'what the f....'. What Obama and his upper echelon have so successfully done has to control the more mainstream media while attempting to disintegrate any media against him (See Diane Feinstein Bill of defining a journalist).

With all that said, I think that the larger clubs have truly established a very confusing regimen of teams of which several play in their own first divisions. This seems to be the case for girls soccer, while boys teams are not so....or at least here in Massachusetts. The Bolts Boys come closest with the DAP and then the various showcase team.....oh yeah "Showcase" is another enticing word. I think NEFC still has some teams in MAPLE. MPS plays the game with their Elite Bulldog, the Elite Select (really??), and now their GPS teams. This is why I like a smaller club in which the DOC knows everyone and really runs the training.

Just got the data too. Obama scored 950 on the 2-part SAT. 2.3 GPA at Columbia. Actually was failing at Harvard Law, but he had pictures on the Dean. Hence, prez of the Law Review. Palin actually lost her spot at Harvard Law due to Obama's affirmative action when she graduated from Northeastern Mennonite Idaho River State University (her 5th college).

Joker. The important communication from the justices does not come during oral argument. That's for the hams. When Thomas broke his personal rule of not speaking during oral argument it was because he could not resist making a joke at the expense of Harvard and Yale. His opinions are among the clearest and most concise - a fact widely conceded by both sides (and even the mainstream media).

Oh, one other quality of Justice Thomas: He actually knows what the Constitution says. Doesn't make the stuff up as he goes. That used to be called jurisprudential competence and integrity. Now they call it conservatism. Go figure.

He is systematically destroying the constitution, capitalism, and any ties with other democracies across the globe. His support of the Muslim brotherhood is insulting and blind. Was somebody here seriously trying to compare Thomas favorably to Obama with regard to intellectual ability?

Thomas' silence on the bench isn't because, as he claims, he's already made up his mind and doesn't see the point of questioning. It's because he's not an intellectual peer of the other Justices. He knows it. They know it.

But, he is smart enough to know to keep silent rather than open his mouth and reveal himself to all. Except of course when he gets that 7 year itch and just can't help himself.
