It was disappointing. Duke was a man up for most of the game and had a lot of chances. NC State's goal was soft. Then, the bus was parked and they played for a tie. Can't blame them with 10 on the field, but it was one we should have won.

this is the challenge facing teams like Duke, Uva, Wake, FSU in the ACC who are coached by guys who want to play attractive passing soccer. Its VERY hard to play the more athletic teams with the current sub rules and standards of refereeing.
you can keep subbing in fit players to do a job on players like Racioppi or Stevens. You dont have to worry about pacing the game. Referees do not give yellow cards. Skilled slower, less physical players get mauled. Coaches dont fear referees enforcing the rules, especially at home.
This is a general comment on where the game is going. For all the money spent by parents on training, very few coaches are really maximizing that at the College level because its easier not to.
Bottom line, if Duke dont get some defense stretching speed, they will be in battles almost every game even though they are supremely talented and a very good team to watch
