I can’t seem to find it using the sites search function.

and the same clueless U11 parents thinking the whole team will be getting full D1 scholarships. Winning the 3rd bracket at Needham gets them all tingly

Almost all clubs have a good team or two in an age group and one or two thats struggling. Undeniably ECNL is the better league but you are fooling yourself if you think Stars or Scorps are the only clubs worth playing for.
The team hardly matters. The league matters. Players that are looking to play at a high level, and are legitimately good enough, will get the best EXPOSURE in ECNL. Recruiters DO NOT care about the a team’s bogus rank. They ONLY are concerned with INDIVIDUAL players and their ability. Majority of high level coaches/recruiters will shop at ECNL first.

I note Duke's incoming class of 5 players that was just announced - 3 from GA, and 2 from ECNL. The head coach of Duke was spotted in Norco at the GA showcase earlier this month.

I’m looking at SSS, Scorpions, NEFC,and Stars commit lists. We’ll see what the results of that Pepsi Challenge are by April, but it’s pretty clear where things stand now.

Team does matter somewhat ,that’s why the best are condensed onto one or two teams when they are older. It will also get that team in the highest tournament bracket possible.Best players surrounded by like players perform not having to cover for weaker players.Nobody’s shopping E bracketed teams.

One example isn't representative of all. Something like 2/3 of the sweet 16 playoff players were ECNL, 1/3 GAL. And what GAL clubs did they come from? As has been said there are a few good teams and players but no way those players came from the like of LISC. Players in that age group probably joined GAL much younger when GAL was GDA and a stronger league. They would have been locked in awhile ago.

That number makes sense and probably will remain. 2/3 of the best teams play in ECNL. 1/3 rd in GA. The top of both leagues are strong and thats where coaches go to watch. Because 2/3 of the strong teams come from ECNL doesn’t mean that one of those is in your backyard. Stars and Scorps are on the outside of that number, maybe Stars is on the fringe, but not the same reputation they used to have.

Can someone help me with math. Are the 07s mostly freshman with a few 8th graders that have fall birthdays?

Top Clubs don’t develop talent, They attract it.

Some of the players on the teams being denigrated on these lists will move to the ECNL clubs and quietly displace the homegrown “talent” that loses early maturity advantage, fails to adapt to new body, loses interest, decides to focus on another sport, or moves to another club when PT declines or Daddy decides Coach is an idiot for not recognizing just how special his D really is.

2/3rd 1/3rd? In reality it’s more like 85% to 15%. And that gap will continue to widen.

ECNL parent, looking at club fee receipt: Gotta be 85/15, and will only widen.

GAL parent, looking at club fee receipt: Look at Duke, maybe it’s 40/60!

Impact NPL parent, looking at club fee receipt: There’s gotta be more than one pathway, plus we beat that team one time!!

The sunk costs insure the thread never dies…

Except that Stars & Scorps ECNL are $2,500 v. $4,500 for SSS.
