There are about 9-10 schools D1 in New England that can compete with top teams.
Boston College, Northeastern, UConn, Harvard, BU(usually), Dartmouth, Yale, Brown, Providence and Rhode Island.

Boston College, Northeastern, UConn, Harvard, BU(usually), Dartmouth, Yale, Brown, Providence and Rhode Island.

Only BC and UConn have any real experience playing top teams outside of NE. And the results have been mixed.

None of the others have done anything outside of the region.

Holy Cross is bad but never losing to UML. PC loss to Colgate is bad. BC loss to nationally ranked St. John's is not bad. BC is the only NE team that can make any type of run in ncaa's.

HC has failed to figure out how to stop opposing offenses, and they have also failed to figure out that just because you are a senior does not mean you should be on the field for 90 minutes.

BC couldn't make a deep run in a nylon stocking. They are still treated like a big-time program but that is just the vapors of a storied past.
