. its not an excuse its a fact grass plays different than turf does. home field advantage
nothing wrong or underhanded about it and staples isnt alone in using it,Warde does it as well.
doesnt matter now anyway, all the games stjs will play in the fciacs and states will be on turf
Maybe jack should have had them practice on grass to get a better feel then.

No excuse. Stj flat out lost. They choked. With the pressure on them, they lost. Lost the undefeated season, lost the number one seed. If they would have beaten darien last Friday, the game would not have been important and they would have locked up the first seed. So maybe they choked last Friday too. Jack says his team is right where they want to be, but facts are facts. 0-1-1 in last two games, scoring one goal a game on average. That’s where he wants to be?

You don't lost by that kind of margin because of your keeper. You lose because your field players can't stop attacks.

Maybe he wanted to lose the #1 seed? Some teams do that. Probably no the case here b based on game reports, but it does happen. Practice should be a ton of fun in Trumbull today

Not the poster but StJ hasn't always been in FCIAC so they're not well liked by many others

St joes has a roster filled with club players. They don’t have the depth to play multiple games in a week? That is called high school soccer. Every team does the same, every year. How long has jack been a high school coach? Maybe he thought this was his club team. Overuse the best players and you have a week before the next game for them to recover. In high school, you need to use the bench. Need to get players rest to keep them healthy and fresh. Maybe that is why the majority of these club coaches don’t do well coaching high school

Ciac doesn’t like 3 games a week but with rain outs it happens at the end
Find me another team who played that many games in that short a time- just the way it played out for them- what club coaches don’t do better than the gym teacher coach?

I have no dog in this fight whatsoever, but please tell me that you know that the “grass” played on by professional and international teams is vastly different than grass fields in HS and youth sports.

ECNL regularly plays 4 games in 8 days, one extra game in that span is not a huge deal. Stop making excuses.

Lots of teams are under the game to get re-scheduled games in. StJ isn't alone in that.

Did JN even sub at yesterday's game against Staples?

                              # 6 was the best player on the field in yesterday's game.
