Oakwood’s Playoff Meltdown in San Diego

There seems to be an unusual amount of venom on the board over the last few days. I suspect this is coming from the OW spinsters as they try to deflect attention away from their club’s miserable showing in their league’s playoffs.

I’ve created this thread to allow Matt Cameron and all of parent interns to have a safe place to share your grievances.

Oakwood sent 3 teams to California. They played 9 matches and came away with one win.

    U14

    0-3. Conceded 15 goals and scored 2

    U15

1-2. Managed to score 3 goals but conceded 13 along the the way. Highlight of the week was a 5 goal thrashing at the hands of old friends Penn Fusion

    U16

This is the super team put together by OW will their future superstars playing up. They went 0-3. Games were competitive but 3 losses are 3 losses.

Oakwood leads CT soccer arrogance but that’s about it. You are “All in” last place in your groups!

This thread wins TS for today.

OW loves to tear down others but this shows that its all hot air.

Rosters are constructed of all Hartford county kids with little to no interest from the rest of the state. They have the benefit of playing in a weak conference that just got a ton worse.

No player from Southern CT is willingly driving to take part in this mess.

Didn't realize they only pull kids from Hartford county. That explains why my daughter didn't make it past tryouts. She'll have to enjoy four years of HS ball

She'll be better for it, socially and soccer wise.

OW location makes it tough for FC players to reach, especially at rush hour. Families will make sacrifices if they feel it's worth it. OW isn't worth it.

You are. Read the entire thread, which is only a few posts long. Surely you can handle that right?

OW 15s DID NOT win a game, they went 0-2-1. They lost two and tied one.....

And the two they lost they lost spectacularly.

while your kid stayed at home and played FortNite. God forbid we'd cheer on some CT kids playing against higher competition and travelling across the US to California.

And one more correction, it was a 6 goal thrashing against our former ECNL friends from Pennsylvania. 4 goals in the first 15minutes of the game. Just want the misery to be accurate.

ECNL families were all further north of you doing the same, but we drink a lot less Koolaid than you OW parents do. Your U15 #3 NE region team flew across the country to lose 6-1 vs Penn Fusion ( a few hour's drive away) who was #2 in their region. San Jose was #1 in theirs, beat OW up 5-0. Penn and San Jose tied each other so clearly that was a more balanced and worthwhile match. The OW tie was against a team that finished 7th in their region. The NE region is poor and is only going downhill with Albertson and Seacoast joining. Beating up basement dwellers doesn't mean you're playing good soccer, except to OW families.
