I dont believe that. It's an ego stroke. The people involved think they can "win". But have no idea they are hurting the long term success of those girls, IF, the parents blindly follow with a promise of "winning" on an 06 team made up of 06, 07, 08.

Just not smart. They should not be doing it abd unfortunately some parents will follow..

It's just irresponsible of them when they claim to want the best for the girls.

Some of you parents who are doing this competitive soccer thing and are actually more into it than your kid need to take a chill! Be active in your kid's sport/interest, but don't let this consume you!

Yes, it's heavily reliant on recruiting who they believe to be the "best" players even if just by word of mouth. They don't care about complicity. Just simply trying to pull girls from other teams.

This type of club just hurts existing good, growing teams and the Miami Dade girls soccer ability to get better. It's a shame. Doing it for all the wrong misguided reasons and destroying the girls soccer future in the process, all for gold at Miami Cup. But, unrealistic and lack of understanding parents will fall for it.

These guys should simply just keep privately trainjng the girls, keep their regular teams together and all win in the end. Instead of trying to jump into club organization they know nothing about. The girks get extra training, their team gets stronger based on their set foundation, the players benefit from a club structure that can support them correctly moving forward. What's so hard about that?

What about when the current/existing club caters to undeserving newcomers who come in thinking they are entitled and the club takes a step back from where it was just the prior year? What happens when the team has a new coach and the practices are stale where as the year before the practices were competitive and engaging? It's great in the end when those new parents that thought their kid was "the new star player" get slapped in the face with the reality that their kid is just "average".

Can't blame those returning players from the year before for wanting to get back to what they had. Of course you have players and parents who are comfortable because they aren't challenged and know they will start. No pressure to get better and the team deteriorates.

They play favorites. One coach specifically will play you if you pay for his private training.

                      The true pay to play.

Every team has us and downs. The only point trying to be made here is at this age group (maybe 06,07,08 on one team) more than just winning every game is on the line. No idea about other teams, just don't think overall, Boys, girls, whatever, separating from an established team instead of improving it at these ages for one team made up of three age groups is not a good idea.

Argument sake. This team forms, then in a couple years, the 06 players graduate. Then a few of the other left. Then the next year, the 07s graduate, what happens to the 07/06 that first year when college recruitment is peak, then what's really left for the 08s the year after.

Not wise. But everyone has their own decisions to make. Just offering an opinion.

Thanks for the opinion and I'm not being sarcastic. The landscape changes so much from year to year even on established clubs. From my understanding, this new club will field an 06/07 club this year and then eventually an 06, 07, etc., in the coming years. If they do things the right way they will have no problem attracting talent in each age group. Do I foresee them in the coming years having a team at every age year? No, that would be unrealistic, but having teams in maybe five or six age groups? It's possible.

Sounds great..maybe it works. But I can assure they will not be an 06, 07 team without a few 07s.

Both wrong. It’s a money grab and it will continue to dilute the already crap programs around dade.

                                Cheers.
