What is going on over at nefc. They are not the club they once were only a few years ago. Maybe nefc deserves to be stuck in GA afterall?

Like other GAL clubs they've lost players to ECNL + now the competition sucks even worse. Not only will they continue to lose some current players but younger ones won't even consider it. To fill spots they have to take weaker players. #deathspiral

Nefc is just living on reputation at this point. DA/GA/PA/AA or whatever it will be called next year is failing and girls are off to Other clubs.

You must be kidding. U littles don’t care about the league, NEFC youth programs remain full. The years that families do care..07, 06, 05, 04 are doing fine. 05 lost a few players but the other ages haven’t. Fake news

04, 05 and even 06 players were largely locked out when GDA collapsed + have deeper emotional to their teammates (girls have a harder time leaving friends than boys tend to). Youth team rosters matter little, what matters is who is remaining by high school.

This is a tired argument but... don’t you think the top 2-3 players on NEFC in any age group could crack one of the two Stars team? If so, then why aren’t they leaving by the busload? This board overstates the value of the league as pathway to college. If you can play then you’ll get noticed. Even the top players on any New England team aren’t necessarily going power 5 and its not because of the league they played in when the were 15yo

Not all the players interested in moving to ECNL will be "top players" - good but not top. If you're more interchangeable with several other current ECNL players clubs are more likely to stick with a known quantity then trade them out for someone similar.

Yes it is true if you've got the goods you'll get noticed. But there's lots of reasons to stay, lots of reason to go

                  1) if you're a more "typical" mid level player being in a league that maximizes your exposure can make a big difference; so does playing good competition or coming from a well known club
                  2) not all ECNL clubs are the same (eg no one in their right mind should move to say FSA)
                  3) not all players can make an ECNL club work logistically
                  4) Some will simply prefer the 10 month GAL program/want to stay where they are.

Are FSA not a good club then?

Sure, but its said over and over here that a mid-level player wouldn’t bump an existing mid-level, and that makes sense. Bigger point is it doesn’t seem like the kids or parents care, very few are moving clubs. Maybe its comfort, coaching, teammates, logistics... whatever it is the club changing hasn’t happened to the extent that ECNL clubs would have you believe. That said...give it a few years and maybe that will change but for now its mostly status quo

Sad but true, the league is losing quality quite fast and may have a tough time recovering. Fingers crossed.

You are so hopeful that NEFC talent fills your roster. Guess we’ll find out soon enough. If it happens it will be seriously funny to watch current Stars players invade ECNLr rosters and parents lose their head.
