Have to remember Stars pays parents $1 a post, and it's proven SSS gets the most activity (second to GA) so they can make a lot of cash pounding on here daily.

Not to mention when kids talk about their offer to teammates who might not have received one yet. Great for team camaraderie for the remainder of the season. Way to early to start trapping families in. Just tell them you're holding off for now.

Offers in late-April? Is LL worried that the exodus that started weeks ago within the 05 and 06 GA teams might continue? Worried that families are tired of the $4,000+ base tuition and 23 girl GA rosters?

I think the whole thing is disgraceful. She's simply trying to trap these kids. Either you accept your offer by the end of the week or you get the side-eye and are ostracized by the rest of the team for the next 6 weeks until the end of the season - likely at the end of the bench?

And, you know what, it's probably going to work. What girl/family - if they were considering a change - wants to deal with the awkwardness for that long?

Absolutely - if you think crushing spirits, embarrassing 10 year old girls and using scare tactics to hold onto players is "doing something right." Wish I had pulled my daughter sooner.

Only one piece of it. Yes, the demise of them based on their legal issues, yes. But, GPSEnvy ran much deeper and much longer than that. It crossed the line into unhealthy obsession. Where SSS sits now.

GPS’ issues went way beyond the courtroom. When you run a bad organization at the top, it stinks all the way to the bottom on the field with the players. By the last 3-4 years before they imploded probably dozens of GPS teams were just a money-making joke. There’s always a grain of truth on a club bashing thread.

Simple enough. Tell them the spring has just started and you need to see how the rest of the spring goes before committing. If your daughter is valued as a player, there'll always be a spot for her. If she's just a number/tuition, let's be honest, there will still probably be a spot for her.

This is exactly how you play it. 95% of the time, they need you more than you need them. You have the $$$. What do they have? FOMO? Be confident and don't lose your leverage. If your kid is a bench player, then use the time to evaluate other clubs with better playing opportunities. If your kid is a starter, you can wait it out until your are ready to commit. Clubs the demand money now for next year are either poorly managed or desperate and panicked.

Tryouts taking place in may and June. Offer spots before to see what a club might need to add. Pretty simple. If you are considering leaving then don’t sign up. If you are happy then sign up.

No but they certainly control how the girls who don't accept are treated over the next 6-7 weeks. That's where Select fails.

It's pretty simple. If you are not absolutely certain that you are staying, don't sign anything yet.

For the first week or so, no big deal. If your kid is an impact player, there will probably be some extra attention and encouragement to remind her how great things are at Select.

By mid-May, your daughter who was starting might come off the bench in a game or two. There might be a little less attention paid to her in practice, as well. The club will remind you both who's the boss, in this situation. If you ask about it they'll probably say something like "we're looking at different lineups and combinations in case the team has a different roster next year..."

But your ARE the boss. You are the customer, and you just need to find the best option for how you spend your time and money. If you decide to return, they won't punish you; they'll happily cash your check.
