So the two ECNL teams (+ one composite team) in this 8 team, week long tournament made the final? Shocker

Congrats to an excellent team! Haters gonna hate (though I'm glad my kid's not there during Covid)

Game is tomorrow. Will be a tough game. FC Dallas is an excellent club.

Not generally an XF hater, but flying to Dallas for a week-long, eight team tournament where there’s only one other ECNL A team, you don’t even play any of the top five ECNL teams your age from that city, you miss more than a week of school and high school soccer, and you are supposed to quarantine for another week after returning seems like a bizarre use of time and money on the part of a lot of people. But each to their own.

Why anyone other than mom, dad, grandparents and maybe a few siblings might want to watch kids girls soccer on TV is a real mystery.

They viewership numbers of 29 people will be better than expected.

Not an Xfire parent but Congrats! I will watch, and DVR it for my DD to watch later. Why the hate on a PNW team being showcased?

Everyone is doing their best to get games in at this point. Sorry, bud, if this quality soccer match bumps the bowling semi-final or Cornhole Competition you had been planning to watch.

You realize that they have been showing cornhole and drone racing recently right? Plenty of
People will watch a random soccer
                Game.

Classes are online and a lot of the public schools are like what... 2 hours a day? Think they will survive a couple days of zooms from Texas.

Money? Really, you think money is an issue? They haven't traveled for over a year (unlike other clubs.)

Quarantining. Inslee rescinded that advisory a couple weeks ago.

Competition - don't blame XF for getting out of the region, just like all the other sports are doing.

The travel quarantine advisory has been modified to track cdc guidelines, which still require 7 days of self-quarantine for seven days after out of state travel (rather than 14 before). https://www.governor.wa.gov/news-med...isory-guidance. At least some schools are following that rule, and it’s irresponsible for anyone not to particularly with new cases on the uptick again in the hopefully last wave of this thing.

Many high schools are in person, and it’s the middle of high school season in the one year a number of these kids got the chance to play high school at all as everyone had been hankering for while they were in da.

Money? Sure, people with more money than sense can spend it on a week playing mediocre teams and missing school if they want. But they should have at least gotten a game in with Solar or one of the other stronger teams in the area. Hopefully fc Dallas will give them a good game.

Just looked at the teams. Nearly all the teams they played are low level premier teams. Like RCL 1/PSPL quality. Surprised they would attend this event considering the level of nearly all the teams in their group.

This Crossfire team is playing quality soccer. Nice to see.

5-1 win. Solid effort. Not a Crossfire fan and may not be the top competition but 5 wins and a 22-1 GD is a good weekend. Congrats to them.

Zags are beating teams by double digits in March Madness- wish they'd find some better competition. ; ) Can only play the team in front of you. Only 2nd team from WA to win Dallas Cup and beat a very good team in FC Dallas 5-1. Congratulations to them.

Gonzaga is playing the best teams in the country, rather than just saying they are. No shortage of teams could give this XF team a better game. Like pac or su or wpfc or crossfire United or Eastside closer to home. Or any number of teams from Nor Cal or So Cal. Or, if you’re headed to TX, games with the local teams Solar, Texans, Challenge, Sting, and Kicks that are all well ahead of FCD in the standings. It’s down to the tournament organizers not getting the better local teams and a few better teams from around the country in there, and can’t really blame XF that they didn’t.

It is nice that Dallas Cup is trying to build a girls tournament after 25 years of not having one. The boys tournament has been great forever. Great venue, great coverage on espn, and would be a fantastic event if better teams showed up — maybe XF going there and doing well and having a good experience will attract some better teams and make it a better competition in the future.
