I never really understood the wood people get for NEFC.

That's why clubs like NEFC or Top Hat want out of GAL and will go if ECNL will take them (there's some politics there but in the end I think it will happen). As for national players they were pressured to go to GDA and now GAL won't provide them with the quality competition they need (or training in the case of many of the GAL clubs). Out of necessity NT will call ups will start emerging from ECNL again. Again, another reason to leave GAL. Finally, taking on too many teams is the last thing you want if you're trying to improve league quality. There are very few teams to pick off that aren't already in either ECNL or GAL. Taking on more subpar teams just waters it down even more, causing the better teams to leave....it's a vicious cycle

GAL should figure out a club vs club structure but in every age group and conference, leave open the opportunity for a real standout team to take part and for poor performers to be pushed to EDP. This way you reduce the negative impact of really awful teams like oakwood 07s.

Yes in our region NYSC and LISC are not top teams nationally, but NEFC, South Shore and Oakwood can all compete with top teams in country. They all have National players in their clubs and have done well in the old DA league. DA needs t keep expanding and gobble up more top USYS clubs and would be a very solid second league

NEFC was strong because they had one year in ECNL before jumping to DA and absorbing Boston Breakers.

Top Hat parents got desperate enough to start a petition lol. GAL clubs will continue to lose their top players to ECNL. They'll do what it takes to get admitted, even if they have to grovel a bit.
