NEFC tournament is like pres season friendlies for high school kids. Some go to get ready for college showcase, some don’t go at all. Thanksgiving is about time with family and it seems NEFC is the only club who doesn’t care. Sure clubs will send players, teams who are hanging around, but like was said here it’s not required. Silly how much value some of you out on this tournament. Go eat some turkey and pick out your Christmas trees.

There is an ECNL showcase the following weekend, then a handful of December league games and then a FL showcase in January.
NEFC event is a weekend of scrimmages to get ready for the league stuff. That’s it. Many of the teams that will be on the schedules for the showcases have spring HS soccer, so they have played league games for the last few months. It wouldn’t be the best idea to go play those teams straight off the Massachusetts HS season.

People travel, want to spend time with family in town or college kids who are home. It's an unnecessary event. Play of you want but don't give up time you can't get back if you don't want to

when we start to complain about holiday tournaments, we also start to realize club soccer is a money grab. when we realize our kids are just good and not great, we realize holidays are more fun. when we realize the GA kids are going nowhere, we are honest with ourselves.

Doesn’t anyone else have a kid who just wants to play? Some of you sound like your kid really hates soccer and it’s just a chore. We’re spending Thursday doing family stuff and then one game a day for the rest of the weekend. Plenty of time to relax and she’s really looking forward to playing with her club team again after HS. We love watching her play too.
