Really, the fee isn't the big factor. The time invested in travel (including practice, matches, tournaments, etc), plus the money for travel are way more.

So the question is overall is it time and money well spent, or not? Most of us have our doubts. Hopefully everybody thinks about that each year, as renewal time comes around.

The critical question is, what are the players goals, and is the club the best way to get them there? Those goals may very well not include college soccer.

We are with Select. I do not see much difference in pricing or the time invested in travel compared to other clubs. If the pricing is more, you say 30%, which teams? We live in Hingham. The cost of everything is probably 30% more in this area than Lancaster, Taunton, or around Mendon to Milford. Real estate, heck, even food costs more as this area is closer to the shore driving prices up. No, not all families have money btw. But they choose Select because they don’t have to drive far and the club offers pathways to GA if players are interested. Select is family oriented. If a family is struggling the club will work with them, just ask. I think the hate is coming from either NEFC who loves to keep bashing or a disappointed select parent who is unhappy with the team their player is placed on.

All the clubs travel is the same… some leagues require more such as ECNL R, vs Impact. ELITE 64 is more. That’s not a club issue that’s a league thing.
