I know but it’s still sad as its destroying other clubs and hard working coaches that developed the players are not left to work with much at the GA level. Youth soccer is a complete travesty.

The constant stealing of players from clubs that developed them has to stop. Can the GA put in place any transfer rules that would solve this issue?

If a player chooses to leave one club and join another, how is that stealing?

You mean the customer (player) shouldn't have the choice of service provider (club) that they spend their thousands of dollars per year on? If they developed a player for free, that would be one thing. But if they've been at the club 3-5 years and spent up to $20k in that time, they don't owe the club anything.

Wow, where is the loyalty and the thanks. Seems like that has disappeared from the game both on and off the pitch.

Will the club be loyal to you if you don't pay? Or if better players come along? At the end of the day, US Soccer is a business and everyone seems to forget that.

Not exactly as you say. PDA has a monopoly, so its not a "free market" as you claim, and as a result the consumers are being ripped off. The market is small "girls development with college potential", which probably is < 100 parents a year, so no one really gives rats ass about this.

                  PDA has a monopoly because:
                  - it has a differentiated product (ECNL showcases)
                  - it has steep barriers to entry (sits on ECNL board)
                  - it exercises its muscle in the marketplace (awarded itself 2 more ECNL licenses instead of giving it to clubs like STA or SJEB)
                  - it charges way more than competition and offers less (2x practices, fewer tournaments, charges for add-ons, practically cancels 80% of the season with no refund or credit)

Again, its a very localized monopoly. Kinda like local pizza place which has an exclusive agreement with a town not to allow any other pizza places to open. Feel free to eat thai, or to travel to a neighboring town.

Terrible message for the kids it teaches them not to be loyal to their friends, teachers and mentors.

Yet there are 5 other ECNL clubs within 75 miles of PDA. How is it a monopoly?

Driving 3 hours to practice is not realistic, that’s why. Also 3 out of the 5 ECNL clubs are self awarded PDA clubs.

You still don’t get it no loyalty, no thanks zero care by these players and families jumping around. Our Ga club has been decimated by greedy PDA grabbing players left and right.

Do you think the clubs have loyalty to the families?

Its not PDA being greedy. Its all of the other clubs cant offer what PDA does and the best kids want to go there. Many kids want to go there. If your kid had an offer for PDA Blue would you choose to stay at CSA?

You make a great point about the PDA vs CSA compare, no brainer if you can make a move to PDA, especially when top clubs, coaches and players are leaving the GA and many other clubs are begging to get into ECNL. It’s reality.
