We are the shore!!! #1 2009 team in the state, #1 2009 team in the region, #1 2009 team in the country! But wait, there's more!! #3 2011 team in the state, #5 2011 team in the region, and #14 2011 team in the country! Yup, it's a Shore thing! Suck that PDA and CSA!

Not OP but dont the majority of girls go through puberty around 12-13 years old? ECNL would be 100% fine starting at U14 or even just U15 to be in line with freshman year and you would have less issues of needing to evaluate early vs late developers.

**** you and your piece if **** kid. I'm so sick and tired of people using this "puberty" card. Winners like our girls are awesome before puberty, and will be even more awesome after. Get in the train or get run over!!!

I don't think anyone is advocating for that, but the reality is not all top players in middle school remain top players. Puberty isn't always kind to some girls. Big hips and boobs can slow even highly skilled players down. Kids who peaked early physically get passed by late bloomers. Then some kids lose interest, some kids get cut altogether, plus there's a migration of top players to the top teams and leagues by HS to get the most exposure, better competition etc. A U12 top team could possibly remain a top team but it won't have anything close to the same roster by U16. Or at least it shouldn't.

But clubs hope families will get lured into ECNL or MLS early and that will lock their kids in. Some clubs do keep players they shouldn't; others cut and add over time.

You will see! Some of those athletic girls at 11-12 turn into pear shaped, lead shoes at 15. Anyone with experience will tell you that a pretty substantial number of the best girl players in grammer and middle school fall off a cliff by freshman and sophomore year, physically.

This is just part of why you will see 75-80% turnover from U12 and U13 "pre-ECNL" teams compared to U14 up.

If you have 15 kids on a U12 team in "pre"ECNL do not be surprised if 10 or more are off the team by U15 as other players from distance gravitate to the badge.

Seriously but it really just is the league that used to be NPL anyway. It isnt actually ECNL and the travel is not the same.

Hopefully it’s possible to ask a legit question and get a legit answer without all the MF Shore bs or the PDA is a scam nonsense.

Has there been any official release on U12 ECNL yet? EDP flights are out for the fall and there are many things that don’t make sense at the U12 level.
