It doesn't matter if he was a GPS coach - its that he's a predator, this could happen at any club, we all trust clubs (which aren't that well run) to do all the right checks, etc.

The emotional, physical and sexual abuse that goes on in youth sports, especially on the girls side, is gross.

The only immigrant coaches, that were not here on illegal visas were the ones with Green Cards, Citizenship or the directors who were on H2-Bs
Soccer coaches don’t qualify for H1-Bs
For H2-Bs GPS didn’t pay them enough wages for most to be legally here on them
P1-S were 100% illegal since they didn’t work for the NWSL teams
The J1s were also 100% illegal since they coached and were not taking classes

Don't believe everything you read in some snake oil salesmans book, the headline is designed to catch your attention, but the underlying detail is woefully inaccurate.

There are also teachers, firemen, clergy, bank managers, football coaches at PSU and wrestling coaches at Ohio State.
Not just coaches.

In addition parents should look around at friends, family and neighbors who they think they can trust. Abuse happens far more often with someone the victim knows well. The creepy 25 year old still living with your neighbor down the street?

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostAll clubs have to run annual background checks in order to get insurance. But if a person doesn't have a record they can fly under the radar. Employers usually will only give basic data to verify employment dates and salary. That's where phone calls can help. If you suspect something reach into the small soccer network and get some inside info.

I dont know how that could happen but I could see certain clubs more worried about filling coaches assignments than kids safety so they fudge the needed paperwork
