Depending on where you are in NJ a trip to MD doesn't require an overnight but MA might.

If you play for PDA North, the likelihood that a trip to MD for Saturday and Sunday games wouldn't require an overnight stay is pretty minimal. And we are talking about 1 weekend trip per year; is that really something a family would balk at?

Even if it works for most families they don't appreciate the switcheroo, more so the team left playing the supposedly weaker group.

PDA White finished in the bottom half of their tables in every age group except 3 (including their RL teams) in the New England Conference (that's only 3 of 14 teams). Meanwhile, PDA North finished first place in every age group except 4 (including their RL teams), with those 4 coming in 2nd in 3 of them and 3rd in 1 (out of 14 teams). Regardless of whether the families appreciated it or not, maybe PDA looking to balance the competition for their teams more appropriately. So whether families appreciate it or not, PDA has very good reason for re-organizing which team plays in which division.

Regardless this is all rumor and it started on another board no less. TS has loads of rumors that never pan out. Such a move needs to make sense in the bigger picture of the league, not just because one club wants it.

The only thing that makes sense is moving Match Fit to New England. And adding PDA Shore as ECNL new club.

What is the purpose of moving Match Fit to the New England league? They would definitely struggle at most ages being that the NE league is more challenging. Maybe MF Shore 09 would be successful but the rest of the ECNL teams would not.

It makes sense because MF is the furthest north and makes more geographic sense to be in the New England division than PDA North.

PDA has some power but the idea that they “run the league” is really far from true. The league is not based here and the management is not full of pda employees or alumni. All they are is a board member like many other clubs.

Not "many other clubs" it is a handful and they do control things as they align together. One reason they bailed on GDA. They had no control.

Except MF teams, for the most part, would be destroyed in the NE...it wasn't too long ago MF teams were traveling up and down the East Coast and taking a beating from Massachusettes to Maryland. Get over the extra hour of travel and be grateful your little princess is in a weaker conference where they get to be the big fish in the small pond.

Fixed it for you - you seem to care enough to post. This is all a rumor. If it actually happens then what will you do? Does it negatively impact your kid in any way? If not, why do you care?
