D3 has no official schedule but will have scrimmages, "captain's practices " and workouts. It just can't be anything "official." D1 has a lighter version of the fall season - some official games buy also all the workouts etc. It's often a time when coaches give more PT to younger players to start building them up for the next fall season. Many student athletes will push their harder classes into the spring semester and many D1 athletes end up doing summer courses as well. D3 gives you more time to do study abroad and internships.

For D1 - Any idea around how many games they play? How long is the game season? 3 weeks? 4 weeks? And do teams travel on a plane? Or do they try to play other teams within a bus ride and no hotel stay? Thanks for answering. Having realistic conversations with my 10th grader about what type of program is best suited for what she wants.
