Not really getting more Rec anyway. THe other rec program is too close by to assume there will be growth. Win for Celtic. Loss for LU and Pinellas County. Doesn't matter since the only program ever relevant in Pinellas is still CC, at least for boys. Guess we'll have to move on and do a late tryout there.

East Lake tried to leave WFF a few years ago to go to TBU but they lost the field rights. There is a board that controls those field rights and they have members of that board that are also with WFF. So good luck getting those fields from the Flamers. Not even peak TBU could do it when all the coaches wanted to make the switch.

Now one more time, real slow, for the people in the back:

This started long before FP was ever in the picture
        The city even said this

Why do you keep making this argument? It’s not true

Regardless of when it started, it ends up as a net loss for the area. I don't think anyone really blames Celtic. They did what was right for Celtic even if the community loses. AS screwed up so it is really his fault we lost a better local option. Maybe there presentations to the board towards then end were a bit slimy and disingenuous but, business is business.

C'mon, you know this is a FP person spinning, when has FP ever limited themselves to the truth?

If Celtic pulls that off, CS will rise again and put the band back together at Celtic of all the ones AL drove away. That would be game changing for Celtic, WFF, TBU, CC and FP.

Well, the only negative I can see is that maybe the fields won't be in such good shape come time for March Madness, if they are actually getting used through the year.

Lakeland FC will become a Celtic Academy Club before the season starts .
Not a takeover but will give them both the potential to push for bigger things with joint bids . Plus the Celtic name will go on the PDL teams .

Who would be hosting the tournament? Largo is gone and you think Celtic will let AS hold his tournaments there.

You are a fool who knows next to nothing. Otherwise you'd know AS owns the tournament. In fact it was tbu wanting to take it over that ended the tbu relationship. Then AL went to FP, but still owned the tournament. Now, he has a tournament with no home.

It’s using Rec to claim their numbers are up. No it’s picking off coaches and teams from CC or Strictly or Celtic or St Pete Raiders to show “how much we’ve grown” when it is really just redistribution of resources - Christan Lavers gets it.

Pretenders are coming for that CDL-2 09 team from Strictly that handed it to two 08 teams and Pretenders top 09 team at March Madness.

You are clueless. FP doesn't run the rec at Tarpon, Temple terrace and largo. Next theory please.

They are selling competitive to Rec buyers and the competitive players that have been with the club don’t like it. 1/2 team Rec 1/2 team competitive might not be standard at ECNL-R, but your lower leagues like NPL or FCL that is what Pretender does. Club is happy, Rec players and parents happy, competitive players leave because team is a mess with daddy coaches who club sends to lower levels to save club $.
