Sorry, not sure what all the fuss is about? She is not marketable past the “she’s very young and turned pro” phase. Not super quick, not overly strong or aggressive. My prediction is fairly quick failure past the novelty stage. Not a hater, but not seeing it.

Just seems like a gimmick to make NWSL interesting, but let’s face it the league is on life support at best and the euro clubs are starting to take the “best” players.

None of it really matters anyway. The truth is that Champions League refs make more than the highest paid players in the NWSL.

Better to play college, have fun, get an education and build a career that will be more fulfilling and lucrative

          Moultrie's parents have money.

Even if she spends every dime of her Nike contract on booze, Boyz, and fast cars, and squanders the rest, she will be able to afford college if pro soccer doesn't work out. The chance she'll en up flipping burgers, working a pole, or living under a bridge are nil.

Novelty is right. There are younger kids who are better than don’t yet have Instagram or social media.

Hopefully dad stopped coming here for validation. Nobody cares.

I think most of them have 2nd jobs like waitressing or cashier at Walgreens.

These women are old enough to be dealing with relationships, alcohol, legal weed, and drama.

I feel bad this kid is losing childhood. A healthy childhood and a great college experience can’t be replaced later on with money. Nobody cares about NWSL. It’s kinda fun but that’s it.

Also, be nice everyone. I know the dad is on here looking for validation.
If you got an ad deal you wouldn’t mind any of this for your kid. Tell the truth.

I remember when one of the San Jose Earthquakes teams signed a 14-year-old academy prospect (goalkeeper Emannuel Ochoa) to a first-team contract. While he hasn't gotten any caps with the first team, he does seem to be coveted by both the US and Mexican youth national sides (he is eligible for either).

But I remember when he was signed, the club made it clear that he would have his own private locker room, because "things are said and done in an adult locker room that 14-year-olds should not hear or see".

And while the sentiment is understandable, especially given the need to ensure no fraternization or abuse goes on... obviously whoever said that doesn't know teenagers. Ochoa is now 16, and I'm sure he's a BIG hit with the ladies.

Think of when you were in high school. Were you clueless about adult topics like sex, drugs, and alcohol? No, you weren't, even if your parents pretended you were, and acted like they never partied back when THEY were kids.

Not the poster but would you prefer your kid learning or talking about such things from their peers vs adults? Their peers may be clueless but adults readily forget to talk in an adult context, make assumptions a kid knows the same things they do.

If she is as good as they say she is, playing in the Olympics wouldn’t have been an issue. Was she considered, because then current squad was need need of some youth. Especially from a player that is supposed to be the future of the sport in the US.

You have to prove that you are an impact pro player first! Being on the USWNT can't be a player that is projected to a NT player, they have to show they can do it over time.

Mallory Pugh made the jump and was never a impact player at next level before anointment to USWNT...

Very true. There are a lot of good players in the USWNT youth system. That USWNT should have had a pool closer in age to the Rose Lavelle. Women's college soccer hurts the development of players. The rest of the world has caught up and college was not the path for most of those players

Not true. Almost all of the top women’s international players played college in the US.

Just a quick fact check. Do your homework before typing BS. Not the same for men’s obviously, but for women D1 soccer has always been the training ground for the worlds top female players

You fail to understand. Men’s soccer failed in the past because their player pool was college players. The women now struggle because their player pool are college players. College coaches are not good, especially on the women’s side. So from 18 to 22 the women are getting no coaching because of poor coaches and NCAA rules. The college players are treated like college students, children and not professionals. The rest of the world are attempting to develop female players as they do the men. US men have gone in the direction of professional development, not college, and they will no doubt be better for it, and women’s soccer will go backwards as the rest of the world are now trying to so things the right way.
