Our oldest is playing in college now and after the Sophomore year meeting, the college would send a coach or assistant coach or graduate student/player to watch at least a 1/2 of a game at every showcase in Junior and Senior years to make sure the player is getting better and growing their game as the level of play intensifies. Some of the girls that were rock stars at 14 start to fade by 17 as the play gets faster and more physical. College coaches start ghosting you when they see that.
This is a great point that even after you have been identified the process doesn't stop. You need to keep emailing and make sure the contact is there. Keep sending them updates to games times, locations, and share videos of recent games (even if you know and are committed) to your scouting social pages.

As mentioned scores aren't important. It is how you play and that doesn't always include what you are doing on the ball, but also shows some of your off-the-ball play as well, 10-30 seconds before and 10-30 seconds after, if not longer depending on relevance of movement.

Chill bro. Colleges speak to coaches. They're recruiting before you are aware of it.

At the youngest allowable age they should attend as many ID camps (that you are interested in) as possible. I think there are far better odds of getting evaluated 1 on 1 at an ID camp than standing out at a massive showcase such as the old DA or current ECNL events. Trust me if they like you they will check up on you and come see you play.

If you don't have it lined up before VPK is over, you missed the boat.

In our experience, it works just the opposite. Contact the college coaches and express interest in their program and then they come to see your kid play at the ECNL showcase type events - so they fan see your kids compete level and technical skills against high level competition. Then you can make arrangements to go that school's ID camp so the coaches can get to know your kid as a person and see how they interact with coaches and other players to see if they will fit in at the program.

The least useful events are the College ID events organized by Clubs where they bring in 20-30 college coaches for a day. They are generally useless because they don't achieve either of the goals laid out above. Basically a money grab by the Club and the Coaches.

The College ID event organized by Florida Premier is great if you are targeting Pasco-Hernando State College.

This is false. ID camps are a waste of time and money unless there has already been an established connection made and the coach needs to further evaluate. For the most part college ID camps and clinics are a way to get the assistant coach more money.

I thought it was understood that "there has already been an established connection." Are you saying some kids pay for a college ID camp and attend before making a connection with the coaching staff?

My child was noticed at GDA tournament and reached out our club coach and set up phone calls before rule change. Was invited to the college ID camp and was offered and committed to a D1 program. Not saying this is the way, but how can a college coach get through hundreds of emails from girls and have the time to go see them. If you stand out as a player you WILL get noticed. Oh and trying to keep the ball for too long and trying to make "moves" around others will not get you anywhere. They like smart play with field awareness. Not physical bulldogs...

It’s all about marketing- emails, video links, follow up emails etc. gotta drum up interest by the coach in you by showing you’re interested in his school and program.
And thinking D1 is the only way to go is shortsighted. Few will get playing time let alone $ at the best D1s- kids can get more pt and academic money and a good education if they choose a school that is a best all around fit. No ones going pro.

In other country’s they look at how they train. Anybody can have a lucky game . Send footage of your kids training session and how they work .

Is this college D1? The Florida Premier coaches told us not to get hung up on which college to attend because we’re going pro.
