Depends on the club. If the club was ECNL before Florida Club League and ECNL-R, their 2nd team would usually be Florida Premier League (FPL) as their 2nd tier and NPL for third tier.

If the club didn’t have ECNL - their highest league for the first team was either Florida Premier League or NPL.

Nothing changed on the club level - just the league names depending on how many teams the club has at a given age group.

On a National level - FCL-1 means nothing. NPL people have actually heard of.

Get a life and come off your high horse. It is a platform for kids to play soccer. That’s it.

So if these are the teams currently in FCL1, is there still going to be an FCL1?

This is 100% true. Maybe clubs moved higher level teams to ECNLR that were playing both ECNLR and NPL/FCL1. Until now, NPL was team by team signup as opposed to club membership. (Still might be that way on boys side.)

            1 ECNL
            2 ECNLR
            3 FCL1

FCL is a replacement for GCF at our club.

                  ENCL
                  ENCL-RL
                  FCL

At our club fcl 1, fcl2, tarsa, fysa, cdl, USA, and fspl is a revenue stream. The idea behind the leagues is place your child on the correct team base on their skill set. For example an fcl 2 player should not try to join a fspl team. The competition levels are different. In the end, it's not a rebranding of the leagues. It's about different organizations all trying to get a piece of the money pie.

It's all bull****. Big clubs creating acronyms to sell naive parents bull****. FSPL and qualifying by making final 16 of state cup was a good system. Then the ecnl teams 6-7 years ago were losing to non ecnl teams so they had to play the we are too good for your league game, because how can they possibly rape parents for $2-$3K more a year then the FSPL club does if they are losing to them. System is ****ed.

My younger kids are into tennis and golf and I couldn't be happier about that.
