Not fair at all to GA clubs and coaches.
Why would US Soccer step in? US Youth Soccer deals with GA side and US Club does ECNL. Unless they pull both into one entity in US Soccer they have 0 say since the league they tried to form died.

The GA clubs develop the kids and they leave for ECNL while the GA clubs are left scrambling to add players from lower level clubs to backfill. US Soccer should do something to stabilize the situation as it is not good for the health of the game. Pretty discouraging and disappointing.

It’s pay to play. Parents pay for training and development. At some point they-the consumer have the right to pay some other club for further development and/ or showcasing. When the clubs pays for these kids then they have the right to complain about the movement. That’s it folks, if you want restrict player movement, pay for the player. And of course this is never gonna happen. You know why , because this is a transactional business. Period, end of story.

Please stop giving GA credit. These kids moving from a GA club to an ECNL club now is still fall out from the DA collapse.

Agreed. Either you were a club in DA, who had already developed great players and made a mistake with GAL... or you were a club that could not get DA or ECNL, and now your better players, that you developed, see the light and want to move. GAL wasn't;t her long enough to develop players.

DA/GA did all the hard work developing players from ULittle to U14-U15 and they bail to ECNL. Absolute real shame for the Coaches that did all the hard work. Not even a freaking thank you out the door. It’s all about chasing the college scholarships.

Actually for many kids it is about college. If the GA clubs offered what ECNL does kids wouldn't leave

For a small group of players it’s about playing against better competition and training in a more competitive atmosphere. I have yet met a family who made the switch for the small chance of getting an athletic scholarship. I have spoken to other parents about nw having the opportunity for my daughter now being seen by a bigger pool of college coaches. Most families are focused on being able to use soccer to help get into a college but no one talks about athletic scholarships.

No, the DA/GA club coaches and DoCs just had the tables turned on them and they lost all of their leverage. Thats what they are most upset about.
