    Thanks, Kevin.

    Post-DA implosion, it's been nothing but playing the other local teams.

    Don't you have a bottom-feeding Pac12 team to worry about?

      Wrong. In the last two years a lot of clubs pulled from the DA and went back to ECNL prior to the implosion. For example, XF Seattle. When all else fails, hurl the personal insults.

        Legg did great and his influence greatly helped with college recruiting but now he can’t coach or be very involved with the high school age groups. Unless you’re recruited already to OSU, can he really help on that front any more?

          Right. So when the good teams were in ECNL you guys were terrible and got shown up by salmon creek and westside.

          When they left you made claims you were the best in the country when we all know that was a farce.

          Now that some of the teams are split between ECNL and GA maybe you ll be middle of the pack.

          We wouldn’t want you to remember the year when all of your teams had -20 goal differentials..

          Just think, you are always one step away from being in last place again. Make sure they don’t send their good teams.

          Oregon NEVER changes.

          Great when they can hide, terrible when they have to face the best.

              Geez, you are going back aloooong time. It was 5 years ago that CU was last in all places. These were the first years of the club and the old regime. Their was a change and it got better at CU. Took the new group a year but by second year they were competitive and never looked back. The ecnl is the best girls league in the nation and CU is a top 20 ECNL club. That is pretty good for our State.

              Get over it, CU represents our state well, and the girls at CU play a very high level. We should be proud of this group...

                "Took the group a new year" happens to correspond to "all the good SoCal teams moved to GDA". The year you were a "top 20 club", there were also several dozen GDA teams that also outranked you in any sensible comparison.

                Nice try, though.

                  My thoughts exactly. That guy just won’t give it up. It’s very clear who is the most competitive program in Oregon.

                    Agree, no club is perfect fit for all and maybe this negative person didn’t have a great experience which happens, but gotta give credit where credit is due. CU is doing well right now competitively on a national level. And a top club in Oregon / Washington. I have had kids in the soccer scene here since 2007 and have never seen an Oregon club do this well.

                      Good to see the "best" of the G01 girls had a production first year in college soccer. Seems the Gresham Gorilla somehow managed to boot in one of the 35 goals scored by her team against extremely weak competition, and the Salem Superstar got a lot of experience holding down the bench.

                        Turns out the "Salem Superstar" who couldn't cut it in ECNL also couldn't cut it in the Pac-12. Imagine that. Can't even get in a game in the WCC. We knew it all along, didn't we???

                          Seriously? Holding a grudge about a middle-school soccer talent who might have been an early bloomer? The 01 girls will be old enough to (legally) drink next year, perhaps you should go pour one for yourself.

                            So a middle school kid crushed your dreams and you are still holding a grudge years later. That seems fair. No matter what anyone says you aren’t a piece of dog poo or a weak human. Nobody is laughing at you.

                              I don't like the bashing of kids. But the kids mentioned here (and there are kids like this in every age group) are cautionary tales:

                              For parents - not to get your hopes and expectations up based on early success and dominance, especially if your kid is ahead in terms of side or speed at a young age;

                              For young star players - that you still need to work hard and continue to push yourself, and not get overly confident or complacent in your status as a team start;

                              And to coaches - to once and for all quit hanging your team's success on an 11 or 12 year old and recognize that today's superstar may struggle in a few years when maturity evens kids out. If you aren't coaching that superstar to learn other positions, or to work on their non dominant foot, or to study the game and improve their soccer IQ, and instead you're just basking in the glory of having the top 11 year old goal scorer in the state, or having a club team that "5 peats" State Cup, you are failing as a coach and a mentor of young people.

                              Finally, if you are a late bloomer, the lesson you can take away is that early struggles very often translate to later success. As a late bloomer you learned to be grateful for your opportunities and make the most of them. You learned to give 100% effort in practice every day if you wanted playing time. You learned patience when giving 100% didn't always equal fair playing time. You learned to study the game to gain every competitive advantage on bigger/stronger/faster opponents. And you learned to be a good teammate when sometimes your main role was working hard in practice and cheering hard on game days from the bench. These are things that youth star players don't always learn, and that's a shame.

                                This thread is the saddest collection of low testosterone A holes. Pathetic doesn’t even begin to describe you all. I feel bad for your kids.
