sorry, just sounds like another patch or different brand, rinse wash repeat. same sh-t with a shiny new label. in the end, if a kid wants to leave, they will leave.

The issue right now is that the separate intramural programs don't have enough players on their own to consistently produced travel teams at U9. And when you don't form those travel teams, the kids try the club next door. When you funnel them all into a single unified tryout you are going to more than enough kids to form at least one team, if not a few of them. That's all I'm talking about. It's a numbers game. I agree that the stud athletes may still look elsewhere.

Kids being able to play with their friends as long as possible is nothing but good for the game and the kids. Very few of those kids ever have the illusion they are going to do anything more than have fun playing and this should help to preserve that. Only a few nutty parents ever chase the "academy" nonsense, and they are free to go at any time.

They have the best teams out of the 3 anyway. Bohemia only has like 5 teams left, so not that crazy of a move . Also, Connetquot already has a doc and has alot of so called bohemia kids playing there too. This combined 3 way club will be competitive to the local clubs but will not compete with the big boys like susa or barcelona.
a doc is the most bs position you can have in youth youth soccer.

Looking at the number of teams between them this is going to make them almost as big as Sachem, at least on the travel side.

Any Sachem kid who can walk and chew gum at the same time ends up on a Smithtown Slammers team for ‘the good of club’.
