CT players wind up at many of the quality schools from Maine to DC and west into PA. Despite academics and athletics many won't go too far from home. There's something for everyone in that consideration set.

The most important measure to the type of families that can afford to drop thousands on youth sports is undergraduate and graduate degrees followed by a successful career lucrative enough to feed and put a roof over a family and achieve some security. these people keep their eyes on the prize. Soccer talent s used as a means to that end if possible with a few exceptions.
