Wonder if karma plays a visit when they apply for that dream job after graduation and the Instagram incidents come to light-:)
      Wow! You weren't kidding.

This is sport specific not all.

What makes this all the more confusing is that the AD @ Widener, Jack Shafer, is a former college teammate of Dan's. That had to be rough on both of them.

the only sports that count in college athletics are football and basketball, they make everything happen for the rest of students in NCAA athletics.

Would have been better to stand up to the nonsense but I wouldnt want to be in a foxhole with anyone these days. Even a "friend" will abandon you at any momemnt.if the heat is too high. Kids learn by example so dont expect any of those girls to support their friends when their friends really need it. They see how the world works now and it's a shame.

Again, I just find it a weird situation. As AD you recruit a friend to coach one of your programs, the program improves but when push comes to shove you don't have your friend's back.

either 1) what he did was really wrong 2) the school pushed to get rid of him. Right or wrong, the AD is still his boss and probably wants to keep his job.

Your daughter will be fine. I would be more worried about having my child in Chester. Hope that isnt too woke for you.

Don't know what happened, but the lesson is don't hire a friend, unless you're prepared to objectively evaluate performance, and terminate if necessary. Puts you and your friendship in a bad spot. Similar to coaching your own kid, puts you in a bad spot, creating animosity amongst parents and players, particularly if your kid is not deserving.

Problem is if you don't stand up for what's right you are potentially the next in line to get canned for nothing.

Hopefully the AD/"friend" can still look in the mirror when he needs to.

You really can't have the players running the asylum as it will never work out well in the end.

PC/Cancel culture is very real and will impact that program for years to come. Did the players who wanted him to continue as coach matter at all?

lol, the players pay $65,000 a year to attend Widener, and Jack Shafer, along with the rest of the people in the athletics department know they better provide good service to the customer, or else they will find people that will. It really is not that hard to understand. The majority of these schools don't care about wins, they care about how many players are on the roster and how many of those players are full payers. Then they want to make sure they don't transfer. It is hard to get female players to attend Widener so the experience better be good or the women will leave.

Can't seem to get an answer to that, everyone seems to be pretty vague and circumspect.
