Updated MA Youth Sports Guidelines - 3/22/2021

From first glance, two big takeaways...

    1) Still no tournaments.

    2) The restrictions on out-of-state travel have been removed. This should mean that non-MA teams can come here for games and MA teams can leave the state for a game as long as they adhere to the MA Travel Advisory (I.e. the "we URGE you to get tested or quarantine").

Great news! Wouldn’t be surprised if tournaments are allowed by May. Nearly 2 million first doses already given out in MA. The one-dose J&J vaccine should really ramp things up when it’s more widely available in a few weeks. https://www.boston.com/news/coronavi...unday-march-21

The are playing tournaments in other parts of the county already. If you can work from anywhere, why stay here? If you can’t work from anywhere, then lat Baker know that this is BS!

Early last summer, friends of our down South were sending us pictures at concerts and amusement parks where no one was wearing a mask. Covid was a “big city”, “NYC”, “Boston” etc. problem and the South didn’t have anything to worry about. Then Covid broke out down there and everything changed. They had bodies piled up in dozens of trucks that was nothing like you saw here in MA. Long story, short: who gives a rat’s a** what they do in other parts of the country? Doesn’t make them smart or right if they don’t follow good advice. Let’s just keep moving forward doing the right things and eventually we’ll get back to normal (or as normal as possible).

Only 10 states in the country had more deaths than MA, only three of them were down south.

By Down South do you mean Brooklyn and other parts of NY?
Same story for a respected outlet
              https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/30/n...ue-bodies.html

and a less respected outlet with more raw footage

You mean like Texas with over 47,000 dead or Florida with over 32,000 dead versus under 17,000 in MA? Just remember too that MA was hit early on before they knew how to treat or really even prevent it. The CDC was still debating masks and hand washing when the body count was really rising here when other states had virtually no deaths. These other states like Texas and Florida had time and warning, but wasted it by dismissing the threat.

I assume you are aware that populations of TX (30M) and FL (21M) are greater than MA (7M) so that they actually have a smaller per capita death rate. That means they all did betterer than us

So your point is that MA wasn't aware of the importance of mask-wearing and hand washing? hahahaha. #dummy

Betterer? You must be from down South with that vocabulary.

There was conflicting advice on masks, distancing, etc. in March and April last year. They were intubating patients too soon then too, which was leading to more deaths. Or can’t your little mind remember a year ago?

There should have been under 500 deaths in Texas and Florida combined. If MA and New York using refrigerated trucks as temporary morgues while they waited for more body bags wasn't a clue nothing is.

Yeah, I remember when that hospital ship in NY harbor almost sank because of how many patients and dead bodies... oh, wait, they had zero patients.
