I understand Lincoln is without a field right now, but ... Not a huge deal because no one cares, but it doesn't look good.

Move on, or be bitter. The choice is yours.
Not a “championship” and really far from bitter just find it really funny how some of you will spin this round robin monty fest- just think of the teams involved. Not even the best teams from 2 different leagues...

Actually 3 of the 4 were not even league champs- centennial, glencoe and grant have that distinction over clackamas, Sherwood and Lincoln respectively. Just sayin but nice try. Someone bitter they are being exposed as frauds???

Thorns academy trains there most weeks. I hear it’s pretty cool for the kids.

I like the idea of a private school league - let the privileged private lessons club sports kids fight it out for the right to lose to Jesuit in the finals.
Agree that there should be a separate league/s for all the private schools. But should all still be in OSAA playoffs

If no Covid, Jesuit doesn’t win a true state championship this year. But there was Covid and I applaud Jesuit and the other 3 teams for finding a way to have some more games and at Providence no less.

The 5A & 6A school ADs should’ve found a way to play league games and had a normal-ish year.

Every 6a metro hs team both boys and girls are all league champs, since there are no league standings during the wacky seasons 2.Lol captain covid clueless.

Congrats to threepeat state champs Jesuit. Zero goals given up all year. Covid or not no one was beating them this year. Hopefully someone can challenge them next fall but they are state champs and anyone saying otherwise is in denial.

Found an article about the backstory of how the 6A Final 4 event came together, really pretty cool during covid and no OSAA playoffs.

I bet this event will become a tradition going forward with some wrinkles added..
Thanks. I just would say it is no necessarily a final four. But that would be cool in the future if they did it final four style.

I sense a definite fall off next year. They've had some special leaders the last 5 years.

If Jesuit plays an entire season with kids that would be in their school district if they were a public school, then they get to be champs. Otherwise, put a big ol asterisk next to all wins.

To be fair, you should allow an all-star team from each conference to play them. They would probably be 4-18 on the year.

A lot of schools have a bunch of players that are as good or better than most Jesuit players. The problem is that rarely do schools have more than 6 or 7 of those players. Then you have big huge holes all over the pitch. Jesuit is 18 deep of good+ players.

No championship for anyone this year anyway.

Your big ol asterisk is a big ol excuse. Kids transfer in public schools all the time. National champion Cameron Brink did. Happens everywhere and the "rich" (or in this case the schools with the best history of success and talent) get richer.

Now, if Oregon had a rule that athletes had to play for their geographical home school, you could argue private schools have an advantage. But we don't have any kind of rule like that. If you transfer you can play at your transfer school full stop.

You would make a better argument by saying private schools are by virtue of who they are a place where kids who are more priviliged go. Priviliged kids are more likely to have private lessons, play for more expensive clubs, and participate in more expensive travel and camps. So they get better because of the opportunities they can afford. Because of that, it's laughable when you see a team like Eugene Marist use their enrollment to play in easier 4a after winning state titles across multiple sports in 5a. For as much as it's not fun to watch Jesuit roll everyone year after year, at least they're playing in the top league in the state, instead of using enrollment to play 5a.
