We just got back from a highschool baseball game and there was multiple colleges in attendance.
Everything opens up im 3 days anyways.

that's not correct. D1 coaches may watch trainings. the other three things you mentioned are NCAA violations.
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostHope none of these schools you mentioned above had any in-person conversations, contact, or watched trainings or games. Those are direct NCAA violations. Maybe you meant to say D2, D3, NAIA, JUCO coaches were at your trainings.

It's definitely walking a thin line but attending a club (not HS) training is not against the ncaa rules for D1 coaches.
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostThey are not supposed to have any face to face contact or visit high schools. Attending a training seems to violate that in spirit.

Here's a link to the NCAA site. Show me where paying for travel during a dead period is a violation.

All this speculation but here's the actual bylaws. Looks like attending practices is indeed against the rules.

13.02.5.5 Dead Period. A dead period is a period of time when it is not permissible to make in-person recruiting contacts or evaluations on or off the institution's campus or to permit official or unofficial visits by prospective student-athletes to the institution's campus. It remains permissible, however, for an institutional staff member to write or telephone a prospective student-athlete during a dead period. [D] (Revised: 1/11/94, 12/6/13, 10/30/14)
It's pretty clear. No evaluation on or OFF CAMPUS. And a lot of Covid recruiting happened via live streamed events and videos. I know a handful of 2022 kids recruited this way and haven't accepted their offers because they are waiting for June 1 to visit the campus and attend the school's ID camp as their official visit.

16 schools times 7 new roster spots a year is 112 spots. That's enough to take all the ECNL girls who graduate each year in WA and then some.
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostI think you have to add the caveat that the player must be willing to move away from home to go play. We have 16 schools that offer women's soccer at a NAIA level or higher. That soccer mecca of West Virginia (population of 2M) has 18. Pennsylvania (pop 13M) has 98.
So yes, there is opportunity - but it's not here. Here there is a lot of competition for a few spots. Of course the same is true for all sports and is even a little more disparate when it comes to men's soccer and explains why playing for a top CC in Washington is not a bad thing.

The 05 team just had 5 college coaches in town to watch the girls train this past week.
