Who won any tournament at any youth level last year, or the year before? You don't remember or care because no one does other than those players and their families and maybe the coach.

Per age group, call it 60 ECNL players.....how many end up contributing to a D1 program? Divide that by call it 2000 players per birth year and that is the ridiculously low percentage of players where the ECNL pathway has tangible results. The rest? A lot of money, a lot of time in the car to end up no different than most other players. Now, if they enjoy it then great, if they view it as a job interview then take a hard look at the situation.

There's definitely significant tournaments and championships for this level of play. Both national and international level. Do the kids get paid? No! But neither do college athletes playing whatever bowls or madnesses there's out there.

These grubby club owners and coaches should have to be held accountable.
