    U23 Girls

Hi All, Where are college players playing this summer. My D usually plays in NEP league but seems like they are not doing girls this year. Any thoughts?

My kid has a couple of things lined up. One is a league with a couple of games a week and the other is an invite-only 3 week camp that appears to be training and scrimmage only. I don't know the details, because she manages this stuff and chooses what will work best to prepare her for her season. Apparently, she's stayed connected to most of her old club teammates over the years and they all know what the various options are.

Like a lot of the commenters I've read on TS over the years, I always thought that her relationships with her club teammates were not terribly deep - and that their apparent closeness was just a function of time spent forced together at a young age and that they would go their separate ways upon graduating high school. I was wrong.

All those years training in the wind and rain, traveling around the country to various events, going through the recruiting process together, playoffs and tournaments, etc. formed a pretty tight bond. It differs from the bonds formed with HS teammates, but it's still legit.

My understanding is that NEP will announce Monday that they are not having a girls u23 season.

Even if they're not "close" they're all connected on social media and the word gets out quickly, along with individual reach outs from closer friends. That's how my kid finds about all these things.

Exactly. Sending and gathering information for your child is a lot different than doing the work for them.
