    BR/FCS/CC - Super Thread

There are numerous threads about Braden (aka Brenden) River, FC Sarasota and Clearwater Chargers - LWR.

Each thread in duplicative of the other. Lets just post (bash) on one thread so no one misses anything and no one had to look at 4 different threads - only to read the same thing over and over again.

Hopefully, this thread will be based on fact without the bashing, but that may be asking too much.

Does this list (specifically the numbers for FCS) include Sarasota / Suncoast? probably could include them if not. I know many manatee players that travel there, diluting the pool further. Numbers just are not that big here on the west coast. FCS attempted to bring Sarasota and Manatee together and for many reasons it has not worked (not looking to re-hash peoples opinions as to why it has not worked or who is to blame) but because it didn't work doesn't mean it still can't work. Unfortunately, it seems that CC was not interested in bringing the two communities together but instead it seems they were interested in skimming the top and discarding the rest. Sarasota and Manatee had worked together for many, many months trying to build a solution for their communities for all levels of kids skill, it is a shame it has not worked out better than this, and it is a shame hearing all the criticism regarding the local programs who have been trying to find a solution for all kids.

Suncoast only has 1 senior team in USA, U16B playing in Division I.

In my opinion, so few senior teams in this area due to the political infighting over the last 10 years. The parents/coaches are driving the players out of the sport once they reach High School age.

the u16 CDL team is actually a West Florida Premier team
the u18G CDL team is actually a Florida Revolution team

CC@lwr u13 and u12 boys teams will be two of the better teams in the state...moving forward those players will have an excellent opportunity at pre academy and us academy as they get older...players from outside the club will have a difficult time making those teams because they will not have the same tactical understanding that these players will have...what will happen to KH's team at BR....they will contyinue to play usa if they dont leave and go to CC and they miss out on the Acacdemy which should be their goal...oh well...another round to CC@lwr

U17 B - - FCS CDLs team came mainly from Suncoast rising U16B who did somewhat poorly in Div 1 last year. Will be interesting to see how well they do in CDL.

Thank you for the info. Is there any other Suncoast teams? That puts the club number at 5 clubs in the area. Not sure that Venice is considered a team in the are geographically, but if we include it, then there are 6 area clubs. One Suncoast team went there.

Not all the kids that play soccer want to be the next super star. Some of them play for fun and because the competitive soccer is longer than the Rec they play competitive. Nothing wrong with that. Let the kids have fun, learn, make friends, be healthy and much more. The club should be focus on teaching the game and help the kids that have better skills get even better. Remember NOT all that play soccer want to play in college .
It is good to have clubs for all kind of levels and goals. But the most important is to serve the community teach them the game, teach them to love it and teach them to work has a team.
If the kids that want to advance.... off course they have to try different coaches, clubs, etc etc
The clubs should be working has a team and if someone is good the club should advice the parents to move their kid to the next step.
