    How About That WNT

3-0 loss to Sweden. Maybe now US Soccer will take a look at how poor youth soccer has gotten.

This is for all those awesome MF Shore dads out there who love to brag about RT and the MF Shore teams.

Not to worry, RT is bringing it all back! He has the #1 ranked 09 team in the state, #1 ranked 09 team in the region, and the #1 ranked 09 team in the country. This guy knows how to get results!

Ha ha. They brought a veteran team and I'd say few actually played DA.

We've been suggesting for last several years the women are on the downswing since the proliferation of girls soccer turning into "how much money can my kid get for college" and nothing to advance the game. There is no incentive to play great, successful soccer that can be utilized against any opponent. Instead, it's kick it kick it kick it get it get it get it because that's what draws the video highlights.

Everytime the naysayers brought it up we were told "ha! The women's team is the best in the world and it will always be that way."

Time for a reckoning. Blame Club soccer, not the entity that tried to fix it but couldn't get the buy-in to do so.

The DA failed to develop adequate replacements for the dinosaurs who are playing on the USWNT

So you are blaming a program that lasted three years and never had the full support of the community and, in fact, had a campaign waged against it to see it fail.

So, it fails, and then you blame them?

Interesting way to switch the narrative.

It's the same thing seen on every pitch in the US. Skill players sitting in favor of long distance runners and basketball players.

The loss today has everything to do with US Soccer. The average age for this team is 30.9 years. This team was not selected by merit but rather by the marketing of US Soccer. It was based on money/revenue for US Soccer. Look at the veterans on this team particularly the offense is this the best this country has to offer? This group “maxed out” in the last WC. The Coaches know that as well as US Soccer. This cycle should have ended then instead of trying to “milk” every last dollar in this Olympics. Anyone who has followed this group saw there were going to be problems scoring goals. Very little connect between the midfield and forwards. Julie Ertz is greatly missed for everything she does in that midfield. I woke up to watch an old team get out run, out hustled and just play poorly to a young team full of confidence from the first minute that they would beat this seasoned team of veterans who left their best game at the last WC. Time to start fresh when this is over.

I wonder how many posts we'll see today slamming technical play and sticking to the "if my kid can outrun your kid that proves they're better" themed posts today

The issue was US Soccer started taking more DA players over ECNL or other leagues because it had control and wanted its own league to be the top. In the few years of GDA existence the WYNTs did horribly. Now they don't have replacements in the system for the old timers currently on the team.

So, will they still be advocating for the same pay as the MNT now? They only get paid when they win and advance.
