5 years of ECNL and the Thorns Academy continues to produce older teams that can’t even compete in Oregon.

Not sure what this is about but there were 2 FC Portland ECNL teams in this and they are terrible in their own league and one of them lost some of their players already so not sure where they are headed in the future. So, it's really an indictment on FC Portland rather than ECNL.

If thorns put their teams in the pcu classic it would likely come out like this as well. 03s were a joke. 04s are a joke.

Speaks volumes when people sell ECNL on development but the end product shows it’s no better than OYSA or Helena HS.

Eastside Thorns are NOT Thorns Academy. The only Thorns Academy that played in PCU was the u12 pre-academy and they won the boys gold division.

I think this contradicts what you're trying to say.

FC Portland ECNL didn't have the greatest showing. Their 06 ECNL team finished dead last with 0 wins while losing to B teams.

By u13 they will be mediocre and you ll see that 1-2 good players at 11 doesn’t translate well to 11v11. Just take a look at the older thorns teams. They are some of the worst teams in Oregon.

PCU was a lost cause tournament

This tournament was a disaster for attendance.

Merged brackets
Clubs that are barely clubs playing
Larger clubs showing just how terrible their teams are. Seems they sent their clubs that need "practice" to this event to measure the true disaster the year will be.

BTW...this applies to both the Girls AND Boys side.

Have to admit with scorelines of 0-2 & 1-2 in a 'super' group that's much better than the thrashings our local neighborhood ecnl club older teams takes at the hands of Seattle's best. To your point, when you dilute little oregon like we do---these results are the traditional outcomes when facing Seattle's finest.

The notion that Thorns are a perpetual coaches graveyard, whereas Legg is the Guardiola of girls' soccer, is a big fat whopper. KL is an average coach, a mediocre director, and an ace recruiter. If you play for one of his CU teams, either you are already a very good player, or he's desperate to fill a roster. Turning oysters into pearls isn't his thing.

Now that the competition isn't hobbled by the high school ban, and now that Rochelle Hearns is no longer at THUSC developing talent for him, expect CU to be exposed.
