It's apparently quite hard to get refs for many of the weekends despite what sounds like good pay. The training requirements (and fees), time and travel commitments might have something to do with it, but I'm hearing abusive parents (and coaches) as being a major reason why young refs, especially, aren't sticking with it.

As for two refs? Which offside line is the AR going to watch?

***** Well, we had 1 ref at 3 games, 2 refs at 3 games, and 3 refs at 2 games. All the games worked out fine, the world did not come crashing down.

I don't know whose finger you think is pointing where. All I've said from the beginning is that people either need to fix the rules or just shut up and accept things as they are.

***** The reason I'm saying the pointing, is not directed to you. It is directed to those who are not able to "just shut up and accept things as they are". Because if they don't, then they are the ones who are truly "chasing trophies", until they can state legitimate reasons for these teams to not exist. As previously stated.

Yes, you are correct. But why punish the ones that decided to play club earlier, but want to continue playing SL? There is no answer for that, because it should not matter. Again, the only one it matters to is the parent that didn't win that trophy because they are not on one of these teams. Go win your trophy in classic or rhody, stay out of anchor. Very simple really

        Those medals mean nothing.
There are littery dozens of mass players playing in Superliga on quasi club teams. Its a joke. Only thing making it more h as hilarious in an ultra sad way, is they play in less than anchor.
Cosches and admins of these teams are shameful humans.
Mass town soccer does not allow this.

Club teams like bayside Cumberland, pumas, Prov united etc are playing classic. Its a joke.
They are doing it purely for trophies.

I agree with your point that ALL club players should only be allowed in Anchor

Yes, less than anchor for any club player is a joke. However, the list you named, make sure to specify teams, not the entire club. Don't put us all under the same umbrella

Not every "club" is at the same playing level. That's why there are like 5+ divisions in some of the club leagues.

Some families may choose to send their kids to club soccer for different reasons than because they believe their kids are future D1 stars.

True. Clubs like Surf RI have 5 teams in an age group. By the time you get to team 4 or team 5, these are kids that would play Rhody at a strong town program.

Truth of matter is some local club teams have always taken advantage of the system. Any yes, the league administrator has always turn a blind eye to the problem especially when some well established clubs engaged in sandbagging a certain division. That has been my experience. This has been going on for a long time. To often is the adults are the problem. Kids couldn’t care less were they play. As a former coach there is value for club players to play SL bc for some playing, playing clubs do not allow them enough touches on ball and SL is a good platform for that. Playing SL should be stress free as they can be for the players so they can level creativity and skills needed for the next level.

Unfortunately, Puma has taken this to a new level by recruiting an all star team just to chase trophies. Where as development is not the main purpose or benefit. Other clubs are forced to recruit they own elite teams to compete with Puma. That is the sad part of youth sports today. Everyone chasing trophies and less focus on player development. Player development starts from rec, competitive and end with club.

Where as development is not the main purpose or benefit *** (YOUR MAIN PURPOSE IS NOT THE SAME AS EVERY OTHER FAMILIES MAIN PURPOSE). Other clubs are forced to recruit they own elite teams to compete with Puma *** (PLAI IN CLASSIC OR RHODY IF YOU DO NOT WANT THE COMPETITION, THIS IS WHY SL HAS 3 LEVELS). PUMAS HAS ONLY BEEN A CLUB FOR 2 AND A HALF YEARS, THE PROBLEM AS YOU CALL IT, STARTED LONG BEFORE THE PUMAS CAME AROUND. BUT I DON'T SEE IT AS A PROBLEM IF THESE TEAMS PLAY IN SL ANCHOR).
                        Keep it moving folks...

Not True. Show me 1 age group for RI Surf that has 4 teams, never mind 5? Even if you combine RI Surf Central and North, there is still not 5 teams in any age group. Know your facts butt hurt coach/parent

We have 4 teams with a 41 player pool. Still time to try out?

Thank you for proving the point... 4 teams for 07s, and that's why 1 of them plays in classic. Appreciate your assistance, for those who bash that team for playing SL classic. But one poster said rhody would be ok for 4th and 5th teams...
