In fact, leaving your employer has become so commonplace in recent months that the phenomenon has a tag — the Great Resignation.
People quitting the crap jobs they held onto during the pandemic just to have a job, now getting better ones thatvlay more. You don't get unemployment if you quit so stop implying they're quitting for that.

Nope. Republicans are failing on covid. Red states and republican voters are significantly less likely to get vaccinated and in fact 30% refuse to do so. As one red state governor said (now getting overwhelmed with cases) this is a pandemic of the unvaccinated

'I quit': Workers are changing jobs at a record pace amid burnout, new openings with higher pay

As for the dip - it was a small one and possibly temporary. Weekly numbers are pretty meaningless. Look at the overall trends over a longer time period. In fact this graph does just that. It shows weekly filings stabilizing

Nope....they arent taking other jobs, just collecting Joe's summer stipend.

Do you think a guy working in a fast food job is quitting and taking a job at NASA? What better job is he taking? A Goldman job? McKinsey? Doctor? Lawyer? Accountant? Airplane mechanic? They are not taking any skilled job because by definition, they have no skills, nor did they pick any up during covid. Just getting paid to stay home. When benefits dry up, they will be back to busing tables

and how typical making absurd examples. a fast food worker might get a better job at a nice sit down restaurant with tips. he might join amazon in a warehouse or costco - companies that pay more and actually have decent benefits even for low level entry jobs.

"The top reasons why workers want to quit are better opportunities (46%), higher salary (42%), better work-life balance (34%), changing industries (27%), and not enjoying their work (27%). Survey respondents could select more than one reason.

“People are leaving for more attractive jobs because there are lots of attractive jobs on offer,” ZipRecruiter Economist Julia Pollak told Yahoo Money. “The share of signing bonuses has very radically exploded, the share of jobs offering a four-day workweek has also about doubled.”

‘I’d rather bet on myself’: Workers are quitting their jobs to put themselves first https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/24/work...al-health.html

Or, they may be leaving for a better position in the same industry like this guy who got jerked around as a contractor, then left for a staff position with a competitor and better pay https://www.cbsnews.com/news/workers...-rate-economy/

Also: workers quitting is considered a good thing: "When lots of workers are quitting, it is usually considered a sign that the economy is doing well, since people typically aren’t willing to leave one job unless they are pretty confident that they can find another. Right now, things are slightly more complicated. With the coronavirus crisis fading and customers flocking back, businesses have been desperate to hire—job openings are hitting new records"

In fact in 2013 the quit rate spiked as the economy finally started to come out of the long recession. Again, a sign the economy is getting better

Capitol police should have arrested her like she ordered them to do no?

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) appeared to defy her own mask requirement Friday when she removed her face covering for a photo with a newly sworn-in congressman.

After Pelosi administered the oath to Rep. Jake Ellzey (R-Texas), the Speaker could be heard asking: “Can we take off our masks just for the photo?,” apparently repeating a question from a photographer. Pelosi then whipped off her mask, leading Ellzey, his wife and their two children to follow suit.

So, what, one minute of exposure at most? With people who are probably vaccinated?

Besides, you cons keep claiming masks don't work so why the fuss? Oh the faux outrage

Biden failed. Trump gave him the vaccine and he still fuked it up. Ct going back to masks. Makes me so happy I got the vaccine

Connecticut officials are “strongly recommending” that all residents over the age of two — regardless of vaccination status — wear masks indoors after seven of the state’s eight counties have been classified by the CDC as having “substantial transmission” of COVID-19.

The Connecticut Department of Public Health said Sunday that Middlesex County was the latest of the state’s counties to cross the CDC’s threshold for mandatory indoor masks, prompting the recommendation.

Litchfield County has not yet crossed that threshold the CDPH said, however it anticipates that it soon will due to current transmission trends
