true story. One of players on my son's U18 team was banging his teammates mom. Needless to say the boy knew his mom was ho and did not care. The kids would joke about it all the time. The kid even called the other players step dad on the field as a running gag.

Do you want to give a player confidence or should it be the most respected player on your team? My thought is it should be a natural leader who’s going to guide and support players on the pitch. An extension of the coach who players respect.
From the article:
“You can put an armband on somebody and say `This is the captain’, but the players know who they can trust and follow”

Rotate who meets with the refs to decide the flip of the coin. The true leader is who can organise where the team meets for meals before and after the game.
