Having a cup of beer is an even bigger reason why we like to go to the Thorns games. Enjoy life and raise a pint to your home team.

Timbers Academy, since it's free and the parents are not customers... their opinions are irrelevant and can be disregarded. Parents of Timbers' Academy players are told straight out that the way the program is run is none of their business, and if they don't like it they can leave.
Thorns Academy, since it's pay to play... mom and dad are the customers. Peregrine is not used to this dynamic, but youth clubs like Westside have do deal with this every day.

This is really the biggest difference between our MLS/NWSL Pro Club Academies vs the local clubs methodology of pay to travel & play, they (Timbers/Thorns) flip the model on it's head, whereby they pay for the players to play & travel. If many of these local club weren't held hostage to the annual payroll demands of defacto summer bums, this pro club practice could become a reality at many of these so called non-profits.

Thorns = show up and write checks and voila you are now on the team. Pay to play. If you are lucky you might get an autograph as part of the deal but not guaranteed.

The Thorns Academy is the same cost as every other ECNL team out there. In fact, it is MORE expensive than Crossfire. It is not subsidized. It's $7,255 with travel and that doesn't include uniforms and other travel-related costs (food, etc.). https://portlandthornsacademy.demosp...AL-Website.pdf
Compare to: http://www.crossfireunitedecnl.com/h...?layout=466856 (doesn't spell out travel costs)
Timbers Academy is completely free for the boys. Uniforms, travel, food while traveling. All of it. The two are not the same and you are a moron if you think otherwise.

Hmmmm.
I noticed that Little Dick never post anything here. That is so weird considering he is such a Dick everywhere else.
Is Little Dick a "member" of the Copa Creeps?
Hmmmm.
I know Westside Copa Red is full of proud parents... But to be Little Dick on these forums is a new low.
