Title IX trickle down balancing acts at college campuses across this nation have created an unnatural demand for female college soccer players, whereby the supply available of d1 recruits does not match the demand since so many school are now fielding teams that didn't just 10 years ago. Which is stark contrast to the evolved & much more popular American sports that feature an abundant high quality supply & have high demand for student athletes: Basketball, Track n Field & Volleyball.

This unnatural demand for female soccer players was the impetus for silly worthless travel leagues for 'exposure' spearheaded by a con man out of Wisconsin named Christian laver who to this day carries on this masterful grift leading the US Club ecnl charade.

It has become a nationwide club version of 'not so pretty girls, beauty pageants'. Senor Trump would be proud. States like Oregon, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, Idaho, Montana & Wyoming etc have no underbelly of top notch club teams, players or coaches to ever compete vs the top shelf clubs from California, Arizona, Colorado or even Washington in the west. We are lucky if Oregon has 1 team every 5 to 7 years that is somewhat regionally competitive

Meanwhile the demand keeps growing for women's college student athletes as title ix edicts make lasting inroads in the collegiate 'sports' equity sphere. But without an adequate supply of quality female soccer players ---these type of circus of no stars travel club events are predictable outcomes that must be monetized by the grifters--yes the hopeless wanna get paid girls club coaches doesn't have much arm twisting to do when the consumer is a clueless parent. Think STAPLES easy button....

    Fugazi.

The two oldest Crossfire teams are almost all already committed to their D1 schools or close enough that the coaches aren’t watching the fiasco in Florida too closely so it doesn’t really matter how they play. The bad news is the ones committed to P5 and other top programs are getting completely dominated in these games even against other losing teams. If not for outstanding keeper play and some luck, the scores would’ve been more like 10-0 instead of 5-0. The Pac 12 will be leagues more difficult, faster, stronger and more skilled.

It’s a sad state for all of us that Oregon’s best teams are doing so poorly. Is this the beginning of the downward slump of Crossfire or will KL go back and build it back stronger? Oregon can and should do better, regardless of which club has the current top teams. How can we fix it?
Probably a downward slump. Can KL right the ship? Driving out the girls' coaches from THUSC probably hasn't helped CU, who now have to attract club-hoppers to remain viable. And Thorns in the same league, no longer with any restrictions on HS play, doesn't help either.

If BM at uPDX can weasel his way into ECNL, CU might be in some trouble going forward.

O God, please, no more Oregon girls teams in the ecnl.

Have you seen the records of the current teams?

How about let get the quality up of our current teams.

Our older girls are not doing so hot at the ecnl playoff right now.

KL only showed success in ECNL when the top teams moved over to the DA, now CU is getting curb stomped against real talent

They sent more teams to national playoffs than any other OR club. Yes, national competition is intensely difficult going up against some of the top ranked clubs in the country. Oregon has too many ECNL clubs and could be more competitive if consolidated.

We should be proud of our OR girls competing nationally. You in your big arm chair throwing out insults is pathetic.

No I just remember all the braggadocio taking place when the KL kool-aid drinkers were talking how successful CU and they failed to mention they were never facing the better teams. Now they are showing they are mediocre at best. Let’s face it, they aren’t even competitive in FL

Let’s be clear, ECNL clubs from Oregon most of the teams can’t compete well in Oregon.

                It’s all a bit of a scam.

Guess you should connect a bit more with what fully happened at OSU. Kevin was part of the dismissal. He may be a good man, but made poor choices while in that position.

These twisted narratives crafted by the brain dead CU ilk-- all smell the same; shallow & false indicating the trademark CU brand.

Remember when they (CU) tried to convince others they were a nationally elite & relevant club?..... whilst every single top club in the country was in the DA competing and they were stuck in the ecnl graveyard claiming 3rd in the Nation? lol

We all see the truth again, shining it's ugly head in the OSU debacle....

Trends and outcomes don't change unless a person is willing to make corrections in behavior. Which is never going to happen----Especially when the club Parents lack commonsense or the ability to decipher $$h1T from Shinola

Given all the gaslighting going on over on the Olivia Moultrie thread... how soon before we start reading here that KL left Oregon State because CU is a better gig, and ECNL is better than NCAA Division 1?

Love the 'Gaslighting' reference. Cannot wait for the next 'yarn' that will be spinning at it's finest.

Parents are part of the problem. They will do whatever it takes to secure the IG at a D1 school even if their DD will never play. Isn't the IG more important than playtime? KL is another part of the problem but his motives are genuine...he wants your money, will "short" you on development and those of you dumb enough to give it to him deserve all ya' get.

Weird how involved parents are in their children's soccer experience. You all need to get a life. Good luck to OSU women's soccer team. Hope you girls have a great season. Go Beavs!!!
