This thread only goes to show how hard and to what lengths the local clubs will cling to the pay-to-play model in order to protect their financial interests, even if it is holding back the sport they claim to love. It's disgusting.

Greed is bad. It has no place in youth sports.

Complain all you want, but good on Juve for creating an alternative to the current model.

All so that the best players on those teams will then leave at u15 to play for Revs or Bolts. Seems like an odd plan.
You have no clue how top academies work. You are just a self-serving coach or director from a competitor.

I don't think that many Juve players will be taking Revs or Bolts roster spots at U15, perhaps one or two spots for exceptional players that didn't start at those clubs earlier, or maybe for a rare late bloomer. Most will just continue on at Juve for U15 or maybe try to break into an ECNL team at a different club. Hopefully they'll come out of it better players from going up against top competition for a couple of years.

This is basically correct. A few kids would leave Valeo for Bolts after they aged out of Valeo's DA age group but the rest stayed.

Agreed. Maybe two Juve kids will be good enough to make the Bolts MLS team at U15. The rest will take a huge step back from MLS.

Good on juve for letting a whole club support 2 teams at 13/14?
Another thread some one said the tuition was going up $600 this fall?
Do you think that they are trying to capitalize on the younger groups with the hope at 13/14 they will be on one of those teams? This is one of the worst models of pay to play. Just think they throw the mls next tag out there for the u-littles. Get them thinking they can play in the mls league for 2 years then go back to whatever league they are in at 15. Meanwhile the club raises the fees but parents don’t care because they think at u13/14 it will be free so PAYING TO PLAY now they can save money at those age groups. Then go back to paying to play.

Don’t get me wrong it’s great some players get to play for free for a few years. But don’t stick your head in the sand and forget that the players in the club who pay to play are funding this. What will be interesting to see if these parents at the lower age group how they will react when a player from outside the club comes in at u13 and takes their kids spot. That would be funny they were paying for a team that they will never play one.

Juventus will raise the fees of all their non-MLS teams enough that they make a large profit over and above the cost of the two MLS teams. This will not be a zero sum proposition.

FORZA JUVE- MLS Next. (1 of only 24 Chosen in the United States!!)
Letter from our Juventus Boston Academy President!!!

JUVENTUS Academy Boston & Intercontinental football academy new England FAMILY,

WE ARE THRILLED TO ANNOUNCE OUR ACCEPTANCE INTO MLS NEXT. TO BE ACCEPTED BY MLS NEXT IS ANOTHER STEP IN OUR MISSION TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO A SOCCER EXPERIENCE UNLIKE ANY OTHER. This gold seal of approval through mls next as one of 142 teams nationwide is an honor and a reflection of the standard of exCellence we strive to achieve as an organization. IN THE INTEREST OF THE ACADEMY, WE HAVE OPTED TO ADD AN ELITE DIVISION TO JUVENTUS ACADEMY BOSTON - THE INTERCONTINENTAL FOOTBALL ACADEMY, OR “IFA.”

THE IFA IS AN EXTENSION OF JUVENTUS ACADEMY BOSTON, NOT A SEPARATE ENTITY. THIS PROGRAM IS FOR THE MOST ELITE PLAYERS IN OUR ACADEMY. IFA PLAYERS WILL BE AMONG THE STRONGEST YOUTH PLAYERS IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY, AND WE WILL COMMIT THE SAME LEVEL OF INTENSITY AND RESOURCES TO OUR IFA PLAYERS AS WE HAVE TO OUR JUVENTUS Academy Boston PLAYERS.

THE IFA IS AN EXCITING ADDITION TO JUVENTUS ACADEMY BOSTON, AND OPENS THE DOORS FOR OUR PLAYERS TO COMPETE AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF YOUTH SOCCER IN THE COUNTRY. OUR MISSION HAS ALWAYS BEEN TO PROVIDE OUR PLAYERS THE STRONGEST PLATFORM FOR THEIR SUCCESS, AND THEIR DEVELOPMENT HAS ALWAYS BEEN PUT ABOVE ALL ELSE.

WE ARE HAPPY TO SHARE THAT OUR FIRST IFA TEAMS WILL COMPETE IN MLS NEXT AS OF AUGUST 2021. PRESENTLY, THE IFA WILL COMPETE WITH BOTH A U13 AND U14 BOYS TEAM.

FINALLY - WE WOULD LIKE TO ANNOUNCE THAT OUR IFA MLS NEXT TEAMS WILL BE FULLY FUNDED. WE BELIEVE FIRMLY IN DISMANTLING THE FINANCIAL BARRIERS IN YOUTH SOCCER, AND WILL LEAD BY EXAMPLE. NO PLAYER WITH THE CAPABILITIES TO COMPETE AT THIS LEVEL SHOULD BE DENIED DUE TO THEIR ECONOMIC SITUATION.

WE ARE HAPPY TO TAKE THIS STEP WITH OUR JUVENTUS ACADEMY BOSTON FAMILY AND ARE EXCITED TO WRITE THE HISTORY OF THE IFA IN REAL-TIME ALONGSIDE OUR PLAYERS. CREATING THIS ELITE DIVISION OF THE ACADEMY IS A CONTINUATION OF THE SAME SET OF GOALS WE HAVE OUTLINED SINCE OUR INCEPTION. THIS INCREDIBLE MILESTONE IS ONE OF MANY WE WILL ACHIEVE ON OUR MISSION TO BECOME THE STRONGEST YOUTH DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY IN THE UNITED STATES.

                        Sorry- not Bush League...

Some of us parents were notified last night after the ID Session of the MLS team agreement.

There is an agreement in writing and completed with another MLS team (no it is not the New England Revolution)

It will be announced within the next several weeks.

This is a REAL answer- not an answer to Spin up the TS Trolls....
Parents were just told not to make it public...
But, pretty cool stuff.... So, the Girls teams will not be paying for the MLSNext team- a MLS team will....

Juventus doesn’t develop, they just recruit for profit. The only way some of their teams are successful is because they will field teams competitively with players from across all regions. The amount of money that they charge is ridiculous for what they actually do. Their methodology is keep the organization paid. I wouldn’t spend a dime on their garbage…

Why so many parents and players so negative on Juventus; poor past experiences make them want to warn other parents before they make the same mistake. What Juventus fears most is honest reviews from past parents who’ve seen the lack of quality coaching and poor organization firsthand.
