Why don't FSA & Oakwood merge?

think if they all merged. and actually formed a Level 1, 2 and 3 team for each gender & age. We might actually be competitive and a role model for other states. Then again, why don't we just wait for the ability to breathe under water. That'll come first.

Why would FSA want OW? OW needs FSA far more than FSA needs OW.

If anything Sporting should look into a merger with OW.

A merger for a better facility- but the same garbage quality soccer.

they actually both need each other. FSA sits at the bottom of the girls tables. Boys are competitive. OW boys are competitive as well. Combine the two and you'll be better. OW would gain the ECNL badge with FSA and maybe help get them out of the cellar. And it gets OW into a better league. You can argue that FSA is already in a stronger league, but finishing low all the time doesn't exactly get them good attention.

Would only work if OW is in charge of the soccer and FSA is in charge of the facilities. The DiT’s need to get out of the soccer side of the business.

Oakwood should not be rewarded for ignoring the girls side for years and arrogance on top of that.

You people clearly do not understand the personalties invovled here. No chance these clubs come together.

As far as attracting all of the top players onto one team, it sounds good on paper but very unlikley to happen. Lower Fairfield county kids already commute 45 to 50 minutes to Bethany, no chance they go to Farmington or Portland.

CFC had a few teams that pulled kids from Northern Hartford county for the allure of the recruiting. CFC has also had kids drive from Farmington to Bethany. Try that one on!

Just because these two clubs come together doesn't guarantee an improved product not to mention these are privately owned businesess. Why would these guys give up 100% ownership and control to at best have 50% control of a smaller pie. Keep in mind that merging two club doesn't mean you retain all of the players. Odds are you chase 10% of them away.
