Overall it’s not great training. Not terrible but not great in my opinion.
Ten years ago it was good.
Truth be told I’d find high level professional training elsewhere. It will be expensive but much higher level.

Depends on your kid’s age
For example, The 06b group will have more competition as many of the 06’s get jettisoned from the academy with their age consolidation but 07b team will have lots of spots open as half the current team is in TA this year .

On the girls side, it is valuable if your kid is good enough to make regional camp, and maybe even get out of regional camp and be chosen for national camp. These opportunities are priceless. The 05 girls that attended regional camp last week were trained by Brandi Chastain for 5 days. I heard reports that she was the best coach many girls felt they have ever been trained by.

Always funny seeing people put down everything on this website. It makes them feel special I guess. There is a guy named Little Dick that is famous here for this.
ODP is great. Essentially the best kids in the state get a chance to train and play together. My son has enjoyed it. Made a bunch of friends from other teams and built some really cool relationships. The coaching is what it is. Nothing special. But the opportunity to play with a bunch of talented boys (more than any single team, minus the TA)
Like another poster said- at U15 there is significant turnover as the TA kids cant play in ODP so the second team gets pushed up. Still talented though.

I know multiple kids who made it to regionals who aren’t the “best” at their position on their own team.

If you are “in” with whoever the coaches are then do it - OS for the 05’s this year is a perfect example. Even before friendship cup games and tryouts he was an unearned regionals invite. It’s all political so do it if you want just know it will never be the best kids who get rostered….

Sounds like someone is the parent of “one of the best players on their team” that DIDNT make it to regionals.
Very sorry for your loss, moron.
