By being bad at recr, I meant that he lost out on 2 top recruits who probably would have accepted offers there, had he been better at recruiting and made more timely offers. Both players went on to comparable academic schools, albeit ones in the top 10 of d3 programs. The coach just was not great at communicating. Kind of the opposite of Serpone.

Even if he were a poor communicator it hasn't really hurt the program. That's not something you lose a job over or keep a job at the school with.

But no coaching job is part time when you have recruiting to do, seasons to plan for. Coaching is a grind in season - a lot of time away from home in the fall. Maybe he was burnt out, had medical issues, family/life changes, who knows? All that matters now is who is the replacement.
