    National League

Does anyone know what this is about? Is this a new league like GA, ecnl, EDP etc? Some teams involved are NJ premier, CSA, PSA, STA

    (Copied from Twitter) :
We are excited to announce the formation of the North Atlantic Conference Academy Division, which will hold competition for girls clubs beginning in the 2021-22 season!

From what I understand it’s another “league” like EDP or ecnl. How it claims it will be highly competitive teams is a bit confusing. Are they hiring better trainers and coaches? If not than the training will remain the same. Most of these teams already play one another in EDP or GA. So basically you are playing the same teams you play now, trained by the same coaches, with the same teammates but your tuition will be higher and you will be required to travel more ? Youth soccer at its finest

This stuff happens every year - another alphabet soup league, many of which go nowhere or are incorporated into another within a year or two

Not new, just a rebranding of the same old ones. EDP/USYS pre covid had club vs club divisions which were nixed last year due to covid and GA forming. National League has been around awhile and seems to change almost every other year.

Currently teams are selected into NL by winning their div in any USYS league (EDP isn't the only one nationally) then the rest of the teams are filled in through records and such. Club vs Club used to have automatic qualifiers for winning just like the team vs team divisions. All they are doing is bringing this back.

All this will do is water down the USYS team vs team divisions although most of those clubs aren't exactly winning in D1 anyway.

              It’s all soccer

Rebrand of pre covid. National League.
USYS National League was supposed to be top league.
It faded after uS soccer turned over its staff & initiatives.

Correct, EDP USYS D1 will be the equivalent of MOSA now. What a joke.

There is more discussion on the "Next NJ Club to get ECNL" thread

MLSN and GA should have just helped form the foundation of an improved USYS NL, and could have had some synergy. MLSN would have had an easier time with creating infrastructure and GA would have been a much closer rival to ECNL. No one trusted USYS because they have had issues for years with coordinating events and the DA clubs wanted to create their own version of a walled garden, where they could influence events and membership (thats straight from our club DOC) the way ECNL does.

So there is no more usys national ? It’s called National and that’s it?

Are they the same ? Is the National team under edp or u get GAL or is it a stand alone league ? If so , why do many clubs that have GAL also have the National team ?

GAL doesn't fall under USYS for NL

So GA is now part of USYS? The clubs (CSA, STA etc) announced their top teams are playing in this USYS National league? Very confusing.
