SUSA ECNL 2004 and South Shore Bulldogs

This is a nice story after years of fighting. The SUSA boys 04 team and South Shore Bulldogs are going to merge. Glad to see such amazing people come together. I am sure the sidelines will be a pleasant place to spend your weekends. I am sure that the team will possibly win a game now.

How pathetic is SUSA that going into senior year they have to get a whole team to exist. Whoever is running the boys program is terrible.

Good teams and good players always end up at SUSA. That's how it is.

And as kids make college commitments then SUSA can pretend they did all the work developing them 😂😂😂 #susalife

I feel like that's such a weird gripe to have. Should the club ignore the kids' commitments because they played at other clubs? Should they post a congratulatory message with an asterisk-
*played for other clubs until 2021, but offers were generated from showing with Susa
          ???

How come they don’t have any top players graduating this year? Or last year? Or the year before?

Bulldogs are not a top team, they played in multiple leagues and every tournament and still aren’t the best team in NY.

SUSA 04 is a train wreck with horrible coaching. And it became a train wreck when the last coach took over. These guys can’t develop or buy good teams on the boys side.

What you should have said is all good players leave SUSA by HS age.

If they had college commitments that would be great. They have 3 teams graduating and how many college commitments and to where?

Nope I don't work for Susa, but I see this complaint about clubs all the time and I just think it's weird that it bothers people...I'd say the same for any club.

I'm just looking at it from the kid/family's point of view-it's a really exciting time for them and the club shout out and social media congrats from people is a part of it.

                      A few items:

Is this actually true? Or someone bored and stirring the pot?

If it is true, unless they’re all getting scholarships to play at SUSA, why go there since they’re paying much less in comparison to what SUSA charges.

Only reason would be SUSA offers them more potential exposure at showcases than South Shore. The coaching at both places is equally bad.

Maybe delusional parents at South Shore think SUSA will get them better offers from colleges. If they do, they should look at this year’s college commitments for the boys side. Not going to talk about the girls and the difference between the two programs is night and day and everyone knows it.

Lastly, yes, if you want to be transparent and honest, they should put an asterisk about a player’s past history especially if the offer/commitment was received while at the other club. Two examples of this, one, the girl from Syosset, who played almost her entire career at EM and committed to Stanford while at EM. However, SUSA takes credit for it and touts it as she was developed there and received the offer while there. No offer was generated while at SUSA. The other example is the girl from Valley Stream who is not even there anymore yet they still list her college commitment as one of the schools where this class is going. She also played most of her career at EM, got her commitment while at EM and then got offered a free ride at SUSA. Then, she went to FL for her senior year.

But my question is-how do they "takes credit for it and touts it as she was developed there and received the offer while there."? Seriously asking. Or is it just celebrating a current player's accomplishment and wishing them well?

Again, from the player/family's point of view...you're talking about, arguably, the top girls college commitment of the '21 class from LI, but her current club shouldn't acknowledge her publicly because she's only been there a couple of years?

And what about the player currently in FL? Should her current club ignore her college commitment when posting about their class of '21 because she played at 2 different clubs in NY?

I just think people get too worked up about this and need to think about the player instead of the club...

I’m not sure if you are being pedantic.

At what point did I say there should be no announcement about the student’s commitment. Of course, they should announce it. What I said is they should be honest and transparent during the announcement. How difficult is it too include a blurb about where and when the student played? Obviously, they won’t do it because people will realize the club is not what they tout themselves to be and hurt their business.

Would be great of all college commit announcements came with how long a player had been in the club/

So can someone produce a college commitment list for SUSA boys the last couple years?
