    Friendship Cup

Not from Oregon, but wondering if the players on Thorns ODP are just from the Thorns?
If so, where are the Oregon State ODP teams? Can't remember if it was this way...
    been a while.

Ummm no. Totally separate from Thorns ECNL teams. I have no idea why they are called a Thorns. But it is the Oregon state team with girls from many, many different teams.

The Thorns ODP and Timbers ODP is just the state ODP team branded like our pro teams, and depending on the years there are coach overlaps between the DA/Thorns Academy coaches but many come from other clubs. As far as players it depends on why tries out for the RTC/ODP program which in some cases the better players choose to opt out similar to XF if WA where coaches push skipping for their ECNL players. At the 08 level the ODP team is made up of primarily Thorns Academy, Crossfire with a sprinkling of players from EastSide, United PDX, PCU and SCA. For example the best 08 player in the State has never participated in this program but plays for the Thorns Academy and won't be there. Hope that helps.

Sorry to hear that your DD won't be able to put her awesomeness on display...

Sure - totally an opinion but I have heard that from several coaches, and for the record not my daughter. (totally agree it changes from year to year) Point being that the best players sometimes opt out of RTC/ODP programs for different reasons so not always the best players in the pool or some that will develop later.

Since there are no results being posted, I guess the tournament did not happen? Or maybe there are no results because they are all friendly's...hence the name, "Friendly Cup."
