Sorry for the rookie question but can someone explain the different ECNL Divisions/Brackets. Someone mentioned the Blue and White teams played different brackets in SC and someone else said that PDA Blue was now in the Atlantic Conference not the NE Conference. How do all the regions/divisions/brackets shake out. I had always heard that the Stars had incredible college recruitment am I mistaken? Thank you!

[QUOTE=Unregistered;2989248]When teams go to showcases, they don’t play clubs from their own division. That’s sort of the point.[/QUOTE
But when someone says ECNL Blue plays better teams than ECNL White at a showcase and PDA Blue actually plays in a different CONFERENCE than the rest of their club I'm trying to figure out the difference between the regions.

Yes. Blue played opponents from other conferences with better records. The ecnl sets them up that way. If you’re a 1st place or top team in New England you would play a top 1 or 2 team from whatever conference you were matched up against.

Difference between regions is location. For PDA they actually have 3 teams in each age group. But they are all based out of different locations. 2 PDA teams are in the North Atlantic 1 is in New England. I’m assuming maybe they moved one to New England for schedule reasons.
As for stars I think blue has a better record that’s why they are playing better teams in the showcases.

Your asking 2 different questions.

For showcases, teams are matched up based on standings in their division. Top teams play other top teams, middle play middle, bottom play bottom.

PDA Blue and PDA White are based in the same location. Blue plays in the weaker NA division and is pretty much guaranteed a top finish at each age group. White plays in the NE division. Geographically, Somerset, NJ is right in the middle between NA and NE, so one team travels south for games, the other north. Stars obviously can’t do that with their teams.
For showcases, teams are matched up based on standings in their division. Top teams play other top teams, middle play middle, bottom play bottom.
The Northeast Conference split into two after last year and became North Atlantic and New England. Good news for parents who no longer have to travel to PHL and MD for league games. No coincidence that PDA Blue went south avoiding Stars and increasing chances of both PDA and Stars teams qualifying for Champions Cup at Nationals.

New England division is very tough. Pda did not do their B team any favors by putting them in new England.

There are different regional conferences across the country. Clubs play the teams in their conference as part of their typical league play.
At a showcase, as in many tournaments, teams are divided into brackets that play a round robin format within their bracket. The showcase does not move on to an elimination round as you would see in an actual tournament. How these brackets are decided at the showcase is something I don’t know.
