    THE FUTURE IS PRIME... tryouts?

Hey now that tryouts are over, how did PRIME do?

I'm a dad from down South, but I do love hearing the Jax folks argue about La Rato and Shawn Bubba.

The silence from Prime tells you all you need to know...

Feces is pretty quiet too...so I don’t think it was pretty anywhere.

They had enough to fill the teams advertised on the coaching slate they published. But, they are doing the FESA thing and having supplemental tryouts this week.

            Sure you are

And I’m a Danish tulip merchant from Hoofddorp and I’d like to know if Felipe Munoz will be offering pickled herring at the Rivertown concession cart?

FESA thing is to fill 4th and 5th teams. Prime is combing 2 age groups on several of their teams.

Supplemental tryouts, otherwise known as anyone with a pulse can make a “ competitive” team. No experience necessary, just bring check book. Pathetic.

You're right. It's a terrible thing for a parent and child to want to challenge themselves and commit to something that is more than rec. You can (and will) argue it's the same as rec. It's a worn out tired argument. Just shut up, let kids try something new. World is hard enough out there and now you want to bash kids trying something that they aren't great at that will help them develop in ways that go beyond soccer?

Parents know what they sign up for. Most parents also have an understanding of where their child lies on the soccer hierarchy too.

I learned a long time ago to respect the fat kid that tries hard on the team more than the star player. Respect the fat guy/girl running on the tread mill at the gym more than the fit person. Reality is these people are trying to change their lives and better themselves. Trying something new. What does it matter to you who signs up and plays?

                    Why not respect everyone?

The fit guy/gal may have been the fat guy/gal.

I respect your attempt at a good argument.

However, respecting someone more doesn't mean I don't respect the other person.

Except you said, respect them "more". I respectfully respect that you respect the argument.

Incorrect. The FESA thing is to collect butt hurt players who didn’t make the top team at JFC and entice them over with some dual roster BS.

I would respect it "more" if it was a valid argument.

I'll help you with creating a valid, correct initial response based on what you are now arguing

Initial Response >>>> Why not respect everyone?

Correct Initial Resposne >>>> Why not respect everyone equally?

I am now able to answer your question because it is more in line with what you are arguing.

                            My response:

Simple. It's easy to continue when you experience success and results. It's much harder to continue when you experience failure or when you are just starting out.

                              Glad you worked that out.

Under your simple example, I agree. However, unless you know the people you're speaking about, you're speculating and have no clue as to what either the fat or the (seemingly) fit define as success or failure. Using a singular metric to assume you know anything about someone's struggles (or lack thereof) from watching them workout is folly, and to dole out respect based on said speculation is shortsighted. The grass isn't always greener.
