Getting caught playing High School while on MLS Next

Is the punishment for playing high school while on an MLS Next team based on a club by club basis, or is there a set rule from MLS Next that will give you your punishment? Has anyone been punished for doing both and if so, what punishment did your player receive?

So you are paying for your child thousands of dollars to play MLS and thousands more to travel but if they play for free at a local high school then you get punished? Man that’s crazy.

Thats 1 reason why my child didn't want to go to MLS Next team. The club said no high school at all.
        Ridiculous

Great for him to make that decision. We did the same as well. You will see many many more doing the same. Really the parents are the ones against it. The kids want to play HS ball !

High school soccer is where the injuries happen. Our son decided not to play H.S. and said his team is full of Rec Soccer players that are trying to find a girl friend.

Your son probably made the JV team and that's the excuse you use.

Some HS teams suck. Injuries can happen anywhere though.

The thing that irritates me is that you pay-to-play in MLS, and they don't let you play public school soccer. But, if you pay for private school, you can get permission to play school soccer under the MLS Elite rules. I think all kids should get the choice personally. But if you aren't going to let public school kids play school soccer, you shouldn't have a rule that lets private school kids play. That is garbage.

The reason the injuries happen in H.S. games is the officiating. The Refs are completely ignorant of the rules of soccer and they let the games get out of hand on the boys side. Have seen some grotesque injuries in boys H.S. soccer that are not even called as a penalty.

And you pay the club. MLS Next is only free for the select few at the real academies. And if you are on a free ride with the club, then sure, they can tell you what you can do.

Only at the real MLS academies is correct. The poser ones are pay to play and charge more for the name. They make it possible so the real academies can be free. Suckers.

This is the truth. If your son has the potential to play after H.S., you definitely don't let him play in H.S.
